.338 Win Mag
I take back my "never chambered" personal choice..when carrying my cute lil Beretta Tomcat, there's always one in the tip up(still not cocked n locked) but technically one chambered lol
A single gunshot. 357 magnum, to which I was exposed in about 1981 or 82 while I was not wearing hearing protection, has caused an almost non-stop ringing in my left ear since that day. For about three days, I just about could not hear anything but that ringing with my left ear and that ear has rung to varying degrees of intensity ever since that day. There have only been a couple or few times that it stopped completely for a short while. I was leaning on the hood of a Blazer or Ram Charger, taking aim at a skunk wandering about in the middle of the day time during a rabies epidemic, when I took that shot. I regret at least not having used a couple of cigarette filters to plug my ears. I am guessing that because my left ear was the one toward the windshield the sound basically bounced off of it and right back toward me. My right ear rang a little but it stopped shortly after, the left one is at the very least quite the annoyance to this day and makes it hard for me too understand conversations and such (and it got worse in my left ear after chemo 5 years ago and the right one started after chemo and is now also nonstop but not as bad as the left). If one gunshot caused hearing loss we'd all be completely deaf.
He made a mistake and while I understand that I am willing to bet there is an excellent chance that the issuing authority of his pistol license will not get over it. My guess is that he may well lose his license privileges, which will be a shame but not a surprise here in NY.He made a mistake. Get over it.
Same as "carrying outside of your restrictions."He made a mistake and while I understand that I am willing to bet there is an excellent chance that the issuing authority of his pistol license will not get over it. All the best,

I pocket carry in a holster. Cocked and locked with the P238.
Oh. No....You aren't one of those guys! I thought you knew better...Once again, the reason to NOT carry with one in the chamber, I'll take my chances with the third of a second it takes me to chamber a round, while you guys may "accidentally" kill someone or discharge or die because it's so important to walk around chambered, even though you'll go through your whole life without ever needing to use your firearm in defense...but that's a whoooole nother thread to argue..oh wait, and we have
Not trying to be a dick here but that isn't personal preference. It's ignorance and lack of training. I have to say it like it is.When I carry I don't chamber one. That's just personal preference though

If you explore the root of the problem, it is an apprehension of the user not trusting themselves to inadvertently pulling the trigger.I yam what I yam.
Yes most definitely this is a subject, but that's just me
Another reason to carry a snub nose revolver or double action only(DAO) semi auto for concealed or pocket carry.
Striker fired pistols are duty weapons and weren't designed for pocket carry, as is obvious from all of the accidental discharges that have happened since they were offered in compact versions.
There's something wrong and unsafe from the start when you need to think about doing something as mundane as sticking your hand in your pocket while carrying a firearm !
It's not ignorance, so you're not saying it like it is. I'm fully aware of the disadvantage it puts me at.Not trying to be a dick here but that isn't personal preference. It's ignorance and lack of training. I have to say it like it is.
