Wait, an employee complained of hearing loss? Get the fuck out of here.
edit - or should I say.... HEAR.
Think about it like this. Everybody's human we can all make mistakes. Should you potentially lose your 2nd Amendment rights for making a mistake when nobody gets hurt? I would say no.Poster boy for a pocket holster. It's a basic safety requirement. I have a hard time sympathizing with this moron and he deserves whatever penalty he gets. This is exactly the type of attention we don't need.
I know that a pocket holster would most likely have prevented this from happening, but this is also the same reason I feel nervous about pocket carry. I feel that when carrying a firearm should be in its own designated holster out of the pocket. We are all preconditioned to much to throw our hands in our pockets and dig around, something like this is bound to happen. There are plenty of other carry options besides the pocket. My $0.02.

What?If one gunshot caused hearing loss we'd all be completely deaf.
I do get it, and I'm not saying I do get it, and I'm not saying he should go un punished. However, since no one was hurt he should be forced to attend so many hours of a firearm safety class and then turn in that certificate to the court.I see your point and I don't want to be flippant with people's rights but pocket carry is inherently unsafe - he's fortunate no one was seriously hurt including himself. Unfortunately we as gun owners have to hold ourselves to a higher standard as the risks are high in the people's republic of New Yorkistan.

Once again, the reason to NOT carry with one in the chamber, I'll take my chances with the third of a second it takes me to chamber a round, while you guys may "accidentally" kill someone or discharge or die because it's so important to walk around chambered, even though you'll go through your whole life without ever needing to use your firearm in defense...but that's a whoooole nother thread to argue..oh wait, and we have
What? I have had terrible hearing loss since I fired my .308 at a deer this year! Stupidest thing I have ever heard. Probably one of those safe space types. If one gunshot caused hearing loss we'd all be completely deaf.
If you've got a proper holster, one in the chamber is the way to go, but if for some reason you need to pocket carry, then an empty chamber is probably prudent.Once again, the reason to NOT carry with one in the chamber, I'll take my chances with the third of a second it takes me to chamber a round, while you guys may "accidentally" kill someone or discharge or die because it's so important to walk around chambered, even though you'll go through your whole life without ever needing to use your firearm in defense...but that's a whoooole nother thread to argue..oh wait, and we have
