Trauma Kits - who has one?

Keying off this thread Stop the Bleed - free seminar at Paladin Center, Carmel, NY - 11/01/17 I thought I would put some questions out there.

Do you have a trauma kit? (being defined as something used to stop the bleeding from a "serious" wound ie. gunshot, knife wound - something more than a general first aid kit)

Where do you have it? (at home, in vehicle, in range bag, on person)

Is it an assembled, commercial kit or one you assembled yourself? (and where did you buy it or the components)

What's in your kit?

I've got two. Keep one as part of larger first aid kit and the other in my wife's car. Kit is made by Dark Angle Medical and inclues the standard stuff for bleeding tourny, quick clot, israeli bandage, chest seals, NPA and shears. I incorporated it into a larger first aid kit that I mostly use during campouts with scouts but also will take it to range, hikes and sometimes I'll have it with me while working esp with saws.

Also took penetrating trauma class with MDTS a couple years ago it was great. Also recently took Red Cross basic first aid CPR and a 16hr Wilderness First Aid class. I will check out link thanks for posting.

Yes, i keep it in one of my go bags that goes with me where evee i go. It has all the basics in a bleedout kit. I need to make time to get some solid training. My wife is a nurse and has gone through things with me, along with some educational videos, but proper training is needed, and on my "to do" list.

I took TCCC-AC a few months ago and built my own kit. I bought a HSGI medical puuch and filled it with medical supplies I bought on line. Aside from the basic gauze and Band-Aids I included a tourniquet, Israeli bandage, clotting gauze and a couple of chest seals. When you add up the cost of the individual items and the pouch you don't save much from the pre made kits. Ultimately I'd like to have 3 kits. One for the range bag, one for the truck and another for my boat.

yep, being a sheet metal guy, I have a roll of paper towel and duct/electrical tape ( I mean gray first aid tape) Im quite serious. Nothing clogs up a severe laceration faster than a few paper towels taped in place with duct tape or electrical tape.

BTW, if your' interested in getting a suture kit, go to Amazon and look up First aid kits for dogs, you can get all kinds of cool stuff

LOL, I asked my doctor (whom I have known for 30+ years) for medical superglue, she literally said "no freak'n way, you wait til the end of the day to come in now, I give you glue, you'll never come in for sutures" LOL she knows me well

Working on better organization. Putting all my crap in a Plano box so I can use or issue from that as needed.

IFAK on the passenger-side sun visor in my car. IFAK in the backpack that I take to/from work and traveling. IFAK in the range bag. I also keep tourniquets all over the place - in the center console in my car, in my desk at work, several places at home, and I even have a rig to keep one on my ankle.
