Somehow I don't think you would be doing that out of respect, so no.So if I wipe my ass with it because I don’t have TP, that’s ok.

I'm not sure SCOTUS gets a say about constitutional amendments. They can't be unconstitutional by definition.
Best they could do is pretend it doesn't exist like they do with the 2A.
Correct. So if I wipe my ass with it because I don’t have TP, that’s ok.
Are the flags being burned or not? It’s called the retiring of a flag, two different things. It’s in the flag codes.
Libertarians love to say, “no government, no government, less government, less government!” When its convenient for them... for example, @Darth you are for mandatory vaccines right? Correct me if I’m wrong but I know you’ve always have been for people getting vaccinated and this includes mandatory vaccines but at the same time they say less government but now you’re involving the government. I’ve seen this numerous times on libertarian pages (which I follow on Facebook and Instagram.) I called libertarians a hypocrite for that very reason, because they say “little government” when it’s convenient for them and more government when it’s convenient for them. A healthy scepticism of the state is good, because both historically speaking and even today, the biggest oppressor of humanity is government. Even in liberal democracies, civil liberties are violated far too often.Id love to hear your explanation of this
I’ve been super super busy and today was the last day of school so I didn’t have time to message everyone back.If you notice he was asked by a few of us (I skipped the asking and just went to the he doesnt know what those words mean) but the only thing he responded to was about ceremonial burning of the flag, nothing else, ghosted the thread.. and ignored that he tried to call libertarians hypocrites but also is in favor of more government regulations and laws and restrictions on constitutional rights
Look at the flag code...Are the flags being burned or not?
Lol I know what it is. Do you not remember I brought up the ceremony? The question still stands, is the flag being burned? Also you never answered about the nazi and isis flags being burned. Should that be banned as well?Look at the flag code...
Indeed I do, but I haven’t wore anything with the flag on it in a long while.Do you have any clothing with the flag on it?
I haven’t been able to go through everything so you gotta give me time here, I’m slowly getting there and what about the Nazi and ISIS flag? People should burn them and whether or not they do or don’t doesn't matter, it’s not our nations flag, the Flag of the United States is our flag.Lol I know what it is. Do you not remember I brought up the ceremony? The question still stands, is the flag being burned? Also you never answered about the nazi and isis flags being burned. Should that be banned as well?

Wrong.Libertarians love to say, “no government, no government, less government, less government!” When its convenient for them... for example, @Darth you are for mandatory vaccines right?
No, I'm all for people getting vaccinated. You just "made up" that second half.Correct me if I’m wrong but I know you’ve always have been for people getting vaccinated and this includes mandatory vaccines but at the same time they say less government but now you’re involving the government.
Well considering you made it up for me, you most likely made it up for them too.I’ve seen this numerous times on libertarian pages (which I follow on Facebook and Instagram.) I called libertarians a hypocrite for that very reason, because they say “little government” when it’s convenient for them and more government when it’s convenient for them.
What I think doc was trying to express is that if people are doing it and it's putting other people in danger and it's in violation of other lawsYeah , we all know that this thread isn't about littering or any of that.
You are just upset that you can't simply ban speech you disagree with, so let's just find something else to charge them with.
A good party member.
actually, in all fairness I think @Darth is probably one of the most consistent people and his beliefs whether it's popular opinion or not. I would not consider him hypocritical on matters such as these.Libertarians love to say, “no government, no government, less government, less government!” When its convenient for them... for example, @Darth you are for mandatory vaccines right? Usually when you post a quote the source is included.Indeed I do, but I haven’t wore anything with the flag on it in a long while.
“Unless an article of clothing is made from an actual United States flag, there is NO breach of flag etiquette whatsoever. People are simply expressing their patriotism and love of country by wearing an article of clothing that happens to be red, white, and blue with stars and stripes.”
This thread is not about "flaming objects endangering citizens." That doesn't even make sense. What I think doc was trying to express is that if people are doing it and it's putting other people in danger and it's in violation of other laws
well, in regards to the interaction between you and Doc, knowing him the way I do, I imagine the intent of his post about charging them with something is more than likely in a scenario where you have some of these antifa or other lunatic liberals setting flags on fire that would endanger other people or property, in which case I would also agree they should be charged with the pertinent crimes. This thread is not about "flaming objects endangering citizens." That doesn't even make sense.
It's just "well, find something to charge them with then!"
"Justified shooting!? Then charge him for littering with the brass he left around! "
Since Burning the Flag is certainly free speech and all and if I was to see it Ill exercise my free speech and call your mother a whore and we shall go from there.

I agree. He’s consistently petulant.
And when something is blatantly against the ideals of this country and constitution, just because Trump said it doesn’t make it any less wrong.I think what @Darth is saying, in his way, is that this country was founded primarily on the value of individual liberty, not blind worship to anything, including a flag, or a piece of paper, or a person, either real or imagined. Whether anyone likes it or not, that's who we are. If you were in the military - thanks. I hope you fought for more than a flag or a person. You fight for each and every one of us to say whatever the fuck we want. Even if that means we say your service isnt what we want or hope for.
My take: Individualism is what this country is all about. Fuck collectivism in any form.
I believe @Doc8404 took um bridge more with the messenger compared to the message. That's my take anyway although I could be wrong.
