EVs have their place, but it's not rammed down our throats. I think Musk recognizes that. Tesla has had a decent market share even before EV mandates went into effect.

This may even benefit Musk by preventing over-crowding of the EV market.

The major auto makers have so much more R&D invested in the ICE tech and a much better ROI in that sector than jumping off 100% into the EV industry and having to recapture new R&D costs, infrastructure costs and build in new efficiencies. It's hard to imagine all will remain competitive long term. I think they'd prefer to continue to produce cars as they have been and let market demand dictate the move to EVs instead of politicians.

Think about the decades of research, development, patents and tooling, the legacy of it all that these green agenda fucks are laying to waste.

And why? this is more about creating a greater *need* for money to flow so the money-changers can make more money on money. It sure as hell isn't about saving the world.

The company I work for does rough in work for EV chargers (as well as a many other areas, and yes, that includes regular gas stations!). A lot of places that want EV chargers, they don't have the infrastructure. I have well over 50+ instances where the project will get to about 10-20% in and it winds up getting nixed only because it's too expensive, not logical, plans change, etc, etc. It is so fluid on EV charger installs... like wishy-washy I guess is the best term.

My boss tells us all, don't bank on the project happening as it can go from 90% to 0% in an instant.

Since I've been working for this company (12 years now), we've only had 1 gas station project go under.

We've also been removing EV stations as well. We just took one out earlier this week because of too many issues (not vandalism related --- technology issues). Just gets cost prohibitive when it doesn't work/not reliable/can't be trusted.

I’m not surprised by this one bit. How often are you running into there not enough power in the area to supply these charging banks? I’ve heard of a few business expansions being nixed by this recently

He is for EV's and Hybrids.................just not a total communist EV mandate, which he says he will reverse/cancel and save Detroit jobs.

I want to say 30-40% of the time it's due to insufficient power distribution that was found out later on into the planning phases (and yes, that also includes sometimes ground breaking!). The rest of it could be zoning, fallout of leases/contracts, etc, etc.

There was a remote private college in NY that wanted to put charging banks on their campus (huge donation), and National Grid basically laughed at them due to the fact that they would need a separate feeder circuit coming in for their project. National Grid had no issues doing it, but wanted to charge them almost double what it would've cost for the entire project alone.

So if National Grid can laugh a college campus, albeit private, then anything is possible.

But we've been getting less and less work for EV stuff. There's been an uptick in contracted water/sewer and telco work for us.

No one wants EV’s and no one is buying them that’s why. Chargers break all the time. It’s hilarious we want to go all electric but there’s no power in this country.
I just have to wonder how other countries must sit around at bars and laugh at us. We spend so much on migrants we can’t help our own people, we spend so much on DEI and men getting tits we can’t power our country. I’d laugh to if it wasn’t so sad.

Back when I was younger, (2000's era), I wanted to see EV and Hydrogen (mostly HHO) take off.

I wanted a fully electric car for around limited town use only. Something a little better than a battery golf cart. Nothing impressive, just something to go get the newspaper and a cup of joe. Even if it had to have NY's "limited use auto" plates on it.

Now with the help from the .gov and real life experience, I don't want an EV or a hybrid. They ruined it for me.

I have went further back, and I don't even was gas, I want to stick with what I trust and works and that is good old diesel fuel.

Way to go for GM staying with diesel with the new 2025 diesel Tahoe:


GM is even pushing diesel for the US Government more:

Honestly I have a GM vehicle now and I’m happy with it but chances are next time around I will not buy a GM because they are working with .gov hook line and sinker. I personally like Toyotas approach how they have an EV but haven’t gone full blown moron on it. They have embraced hybrids and that’s what people want. As a business your job is to sell a product your customers want. They are also making progress on hydrogen and working towards that.
While I’m not happy Toyota ditched the V-8 I may grab o e of their tundra’s next. I would consider a GM diesel pick up truck.
