Lets consider what is being proposed, just to review the documents much less put together a defense.
I have done this sort of work before, It will take about 5 minutes a document to review and make notes of the importance of that doc, working 8 hours a day a blended team of attorneys and Paralegals at minimum $300 an hour or more would need a team of 444 working 8 hours a day to review the docs. That is well over $1 M a day in legal expenses. Clearly the estimates above assume the work to be accomplished even faster.
And with 189 days.. That would be $189 M in legal bills just to review the discovery docs.
Add to that fact that there are many defendants whose attorneys may be looking for differing items in the docs for different purposes. So not all defendants can share the discovery burden as they will have different attorneys.
So you get it, this trial is not only to throw shade at Trump's candidacy, but to bankrupt every defendant the people can. I would suggest a reader look at what was done to Carter Page and others that were investigated, questioned by Congress, put in the impeachment process, etc etc It was clear that if you work for Trump you will be destroyed even if they dont put you in jail. Why do you suppose they would take the 5th as they know it is a perjury trap and fighting will generate huge legal bills. I think it was Calvato who was investigated and questioned around the time Page was being put through the ringer. He worked on the campaign in 2016 and had to sell his home and cash in all his savings to pay the legal bills, and he was never charged with anything. And once bankrupted, Congress tried to call him in again to testify another time over the same stuff. They were pissing on his grave, He expressed his opinion that he was just an example Democrats had made to stop others from working for Trump.
Once you get done with the legal bills for everyone pulled into the various indictments and trials, and appeals-the amounts will be astronomical
