Too bad he didn't just hand over the records when NARA asked for them. And he should not have shown highly sensitive national defense material to unauthorized people. Vice President had no authority to do anything but count the electoral votes certified by the states. And send the votes to Congress to either approve or reject. That is what Pence did, and he did his job as per the US Constitution and the Electoral Count Act. Congress had every right to reject electoral votes if they felt they were fraudulent or in some other way compromised.
