Trump denies New York Times report detailing his tax returns and financial problems: 'It's totally fake news'

So, according to the NY Slimes their multi-year investigation has uncovered the truth behind Donald Trump's tax returns. Including that he's deeply in debt and has only paid $750 in in Federal Income Tax in 2016 and 2017.

My personal opinion on the matter is, to paraphrase Hillary Clinton:

Although I dont subscribe to the idea, the presentation of his tax returns to the general public presents to the uniformed an association of his views and habits with money, and to again the uninformed, how his personal money habits relate to the public funds. By association some will view his personal finances as "reckless " or evading his responsibilities personally. Imo there are inherently opposite, as no oversight exists in someone's personal finances VS those in the public sector, where checks and balances are the rule of law ( Congress namely, or at least should be). Its strictly to sway public opinion. Remember, to many, all is fair game in politics.

Unless a discharge of debt is in his return, how does a tax return show that someone is in debt?. I most have missed that form in the approximately 25,000 returns I have prepared or reviewed over my career.

What *is* in the federal code though are laws against releasing that information without the consent of the taxpayer.

They need to track down the source of the leak and prosecute them.

Im not sure what the big deal is? All of these rich folks get audited every year. Im sure if there was a problem the IRS would have said something years ago.

And I defy ANYONE IN THIS COUNTRY to say "I pay my full share of taxes, take no deductions and enjoy giving the goberment my money"

as Warren Buffett once complained ( he actually said this) "My secretary pays more taxes than I do" it's Because of the way the tax code is written these guys (the rich) have entire Departments of accounts who know what deductions they can take

as the IRS says, It's ok to avoid taxes, it's illegal to evade taxes

Let’s see 2016 and 2017. We already know he stepped away from the business to run the country. So his only income would be his Presidential salary for those years. 100% of which was donated. $750 actually seems a tad high for those years.

The article fails to mention the tens of millions or hundreds of millions paid in payroll tax.

It does mention however that there is no Russia connection like we were lied to about daily for years.

It also never mentions anything being illegal. Seems like he paid exactly what he should have under law. Law which he did not create.

Lastly, a tax return has nothing to do with what someone is worth or money they have in properties, stocks, bonds, etc etc etc. Just more fake news to distract 2 days before a debate. Sad!

Oh yeah, it also confirmed that he is under audit just like he said he was. A standard practice for such a big company.
