The Founding Fathers were not idiots.
At the time they demanded the 2A, there were an enormous variety of weapons - ARMS - available.
Muskets, Rifles, Pistols, Bombs, Cannon, entire WARSHIPS - the 2A deliberately did not differentiate between any of these.
They wanted to be absolutely certain that the PEOPLE were always a match for the GOVERNMENT.
Private citizens could - and DID - own many of these weapons.
Merchant Vessels, as an example, were legally allowed to fit themselves with any weapon they could afford. It was never a matter of law - simply one of economy.
Our rights to adequately arm ourselves were lost a long time ago.
We cannot afford to lose any more.

I served the United States for over 25 years. I sold guns for years. I got into my current profession for certain reasons.
I have met a lot of great people over the years. Many of us stay close and in touch.
But man, I'm sure he's just playing 6D chess.
There is no possible way on earth free simply falling back into his old anti gun ways.
