I'm pretty darn excited that my vote actually matters this year. I'm going in person on the 5th though.
I'm getting like 3 political spam texts a day. I never got this living in NY.

I have off on Election Day so I plan on doing it during the med morning lul. I know a lot of people who waited till after work or dinner last time around and waited for hrs only to give up and go home. And I’m in a small town. If you’re not off definitely vote early.

I went to the Rome early voting location during my lunch hour, and the line (outside the building) was too long for me to be able to wait and get back to work on time. I may try again tonight as they are open until 8 tonight.
Edit: I found out later in the day that the Rome early voting location had just opened at Noon and I went there about 12:15 when I saw the big line. My wife stopped on her way home from work around 6:30 and texted me to tell me that there was no line. I got there around 6:50 and was in and out in 5 minutes.

My wife and voted at the library in Henrietta on Saturday morning. Got there around 9:45 and hopped in the truck at 11:15. The line moved fairly well. I figure there was about 150-160 folks in front of us. I heard no one speak about the races or our 2 propositions. It was the first time we ever early voted I give the experience an 8 outta 10. The redhead with the spandex sweats in front of me helped the time fly by enormously.

As a long time Republican voter in NYS, I absolutely and highly recommend that you use early voting. Here are the benefits of early voting I could think of :
You get your vote cast even if there are natural or man made impediments which could otherwise prevent you from voting on Nov 5th.
"Natural" impediments include illness, heavy rain, snow storm, etc.
"Man-made" impediments include a car accident, being called in to work unexpectedly, a power failure at your polling location, voting system/machines broken, a family member’s demands on your time, etc.
You avoid potentially long lines at polling sites on Nov 5th.
With early voting, you get to select the location, day and time at which to vote. Early voting can be more convenient for you.
Check your county’s Board of Elections for early polling locations and times.
With early voting, you may have multiple locations at which to vote.
For many people, the election district maps were re-draw since the elections in 2022 , so it is possible that the polling site at which you must vote on Nov 5th may be different than the one you have always gone to for 10, 20 , even 30 years. It would be sad if you ran out of time to vote on Nov 5th because you went to the wrong polling site late in day.
If you vote early, your local political committee should not call you to remind you to vote. Voting early allows your local political committee’s members to focus on people who did not vote.
The morale of candidates is improved if they see lots of members of their political party have voted.

Are there laws that prevent the reporting of early voting results? I don't care about the numbers by party registration, by state. I want to see the actual voting results. Voting early without knowing the results does not sit well with me.
