They can't win, but can get the russian people sick of war and wanting it over.. Putin would have a choice.. Brutally repress, imprison and even kill his own people for demonstratring in the streets, or wearily pulling out the way they did in afghanistan..
There are reports that they are running TV commercials on how to make and use Molotov Cocktails on Ukraine TV... If that gets started, there will be a lot of dead Russian soldiers, and a lot of grieving Russian families demanding an end.. This isn't the 1940's any more.. Most people worldwide do NOT want war.. They want to live their lives in peace,, Russians are no different, except for a dwindling minority of aging hard line Bolsheviks that want a return to the Iron Curtain era...bob

For the life of me I can't understand why the Ukrainian Govt would report this on social media and the news? Showing citizens in line volunteering and being issue weapons. Ya think Putin isn't watching this? Of course the citizens, who now willingly have been made themselves combatants, go home and wait for the Russian invasion. Now it's being reported the Russians are dropping cluster bombs in neighborhoods of the cities they intend to enter. Where is my shocked face at? lol Do you think issuing weapons could have been done in a more discreet manner, or was it deliberate?
