It takes away the one thing the 9mm has going for it. Speed.
If it were a solid round like a hard cast, it would be great for hunting. The extra weight would increase penetration.
But for a hollow point, it makes no sense unless it penetrates more than existing hollow points which I doubt because there isn't enough ass in the case to push that heavy round to larger penetration numbers.

Expansion/penetration balance is as much a matter of bullet construction as anything.
Slow, heavy projectiles typically penetrate deeply in soft tissue. And again this could be a great subsonic round for suppressed use.

If they are designed to barely expand like the Hornady Critical Duty than yes. If they are designed for maximum expansion, then no. There wouldn't be enough velocity to push that parachuted hollow point deep.
That's why the only hollow points that penetrate deep and expand large are up in the 44 magnum category due to a lot of case to work with.
For everything else it's either expand low with deep penetration or expand large with shallow penetration and then there's a medium stuff as well like a Gold Dot or HST for example.
I bet these cost a small fortune though.

I too am interested, but will let others beta-test. I'm happy with my Critical Defense and HST rounds.
Would be a good bullet to put in something like the 38 Super, 9x25 Dillon, or 9x23 Winchester, the 9x19 doesn’t have enough case capacity to use it effectively.
