Does anyone honestly think that post 9-11 and with the advent of the data mining industry...

That the Gov't doesn't "KNOW" the answers to those silly questions they want you to answer!?!?

How cute! ... But such a silly exercise!

Because they "KNOW" all they need to, and a while lot more than you or I would appreciate!

It is... The thing about PA is even though it is becoming more liberal, the Politicians within the state know not to FUCK with the 2nd Amendment if they want to get re-elected. My older brother has all kinds of shit you could NEVER get in NY. And I'm not even talking about high cap mags... I'm talking NFA items like Suppressors and shit. I go to the PA Game Lands Gun Range at Lakawana all the time... You should see some of the shit people show up with to shoot... DROOLING!!!! AND they have open carry... And getting a CC is super easy compared to NY... Can't wait to leave this fucking shithole state....!

If it were based in data mining it would likely be answers to these questions you have already proactively provided to a third party of your own volition, so...

I'm strongly considering it. If NY state tries to raise taxes, and my wife's job doesn't require in-office work anymore (it may not) then there is not reason to not move to PA. She has family there, I have family there. No reason not to make the move and fuck NY for the tax dollars.

They absolutely know.

But they need to get the answers from you if they want to use them for congressional apportioning purposes.

And this is partly why I don't get the reluctance to participate. What nefarious purpose do people think this data will be used for?

My wife and I did it online, it took 5 minutes, and I didn't see anything on there that doesn't already exist somewhere in one or more government datasets from prevous interactions we have had with government itself. I also don't recall there being any questions I gave a shit about the man knowing the answers to anyway.

The only thing that makes sense to me is if you're trying to game the congressional apportionment.

If we get counted in AZ instead of NY, it's a middle finger to FUAC, with no real cost to us.

Someone stuck here might just want to not be counted at all if they know the representative allocated to them is going to vote against their interests all the time.

Of course with the current makeup of the NY government, you *know* any reduction in the number of representatives is going to come out of Republican districts, so it's maybe not so helpful.

It could at least in theory affect the 2024 electoral results though.

I actually enjoy participating in government when it should make a difference, ie voting. With voting, they don't tell you you have to. Just when and where, and it is up to me if I want to attend.

In 2010 I was a census worker and after doing My census gatherings, I was assigned to contact the people who had yet to accomplish the census report. Most were nice..some were @$$holes...and I can only say that anyone who refuses a census request and have a credit card: You gave more personal information for a credit card application then what is on a census request.

The U.S. Constitution requires the "enumeration" of persons living in the United States. My answer on the census is always just that, a single number. That is what the Constitution requires, that is all that I provide.
