43 loaded guns in a house is an unreasonably low number. What part of the house is not covered by a loaded gun? Kitchen?? bathroom??

Shower. Most people don’t have a shower gun. Definitely always should have a shower gun. Only thing scarier to an intruder than a naked pissed off soaking wet guy, is a well armed naked pissed off soaking wet guy.

Eh, I don't keep a round chambered in a gun I'm not in immediate possession of. If I'm laying it down any farther away than the bench in front of me I'll unload it.
The ones I have at home that I consider "defensive" have a loaded magazine in them, but not a chambered round unless I'm wearing then.
OFC, the whole question of that statistic hinges on what definition of "loaded" they are using.
If they use the BS NYS definition "ammunition is somewhere in the vicinity", then nearly every gun is loaded.
A stainless pistol near the shower, on the wall, IS a great idea. "They" may wait until they hear the sound of a shower, before cracking the front door.

Does loaded mag inserted, empty chamber count as loaded? I keep whatever long guns I have on deck cruiser ready. I only keep handguns on a loaded chamber.
