Would it be better there wasn't any word from them?I didn't see any update on pending cases in that document other than this:
"Currently the Second Circuit court of appeals has 4 cases in which they have yet to decide, once that is done, we can get movement on our new case."
That's not really an update.
This .pdf is just an ad for their upcoming Bruen2 lawsuit.
Who else has done anything successful? Won a Case in/against NY in the last two or three years?I read the email as " hey hey look at us!! We could really use more money while the courts trample on your rights by doing nothing. But we're gonna super duper sue them this time!!"
I really would not call anything a success just yet. All of the money donated over the years and we have less and less rights every step of the way. I am not sure that doing anything at this point is going to help NY. NY basically has to crumble and be rebuilt which will not happen in my life.Who else has done anything successful? Won a Case in/against NY in the last two or three years?
What Pro-2A Groupe in NY has more members?
Court Cases just like elections cost money, lots of it.
I thought you moved out of NY to NC?I read their "pending" lawsuit. I am no lawyer, and didn't stay in a Holiday Inn last night, but, overall, it didn't really do anything for me. It just kind of struck me as, well, someone just going through the motions, and not really putting much effort or thought into it. As book reports might get graded, I would give it a B-.
One thing I did find interesting though, was the recitation of the new NYS requirements for obtaining a CCW, and specifically the live fire requirements laid out on Paragraph 24 on Page 9 of 36. So, now one has to draw and re-holster the firearm you use at the range? Yet one more added expense, to buy a holster for a training gun such as a .22 that almost no one will ever carry as their EDC gun. The CCIA just keeps piling shit on.
Also, they laid out the entirely subjective requirements re one's social media, and their blatantly illegal search requirements. And yet, while the illegal CCIA requirements are on the books and not overturned, NYers wanting to get a pistol permit have to endure them.
I didn't see where those of us with CCW permits already would have to endure said training, social media account snooping, and God knows what else when recertifying, but I expect that is only a matter of time. I just recertified FWIW, and now my date is pushed out their measly 3 years.
Yes @FP1201 , I did move out, first to NC, and now in SC. I still have family and friends back in NY and kept my permit, and so, yes, I keep tabs on all of the shit NYS is pulling.I thought you moved out of NY to NC?
Only the three people in the Room know who wrote the CCIA, there was no public review or commentary allowed and passed overnight as an "emergency" only to be implemented months later.
If this was a right fucking now, gett'r done case against the State do you not think someone (including all the Gun Groups) would be on this. We're over ten years fighting the un_SAFE Act with damn little success here, but for every case in other States that finds AW bans, magazine capacity restrictions and others unconstitutional/illegitimate it puts us one step closer.
NYSRPA did not write and does not support ANY portion of the CCIA and changes made aganist Dealers or persons who could otherwise lawfully posesse a gun, to think them the enemy is astoundingly stupid.
As for qualifying on a Range before renewing/applying for a Licenses; read this from the SAF: Deep Dive: New Jersey’s new ‘John Wick’ concealed-carry qualification test - Second Amendment Foundation
I don't necessarily view NYSRPA as the enemy. When I lived in NYS, I don't ever recall even hearing from them. No soliciting for anything. Nothing. While the NRA funded their NYS affiliate NYSRPA's Bruen lawsuit, I see NYSRPA as overall ineffective. NYS gun owners are STILL being fucked over almost 10 years after (UN)Safe Act was passed in the middle of the night. And it has only gotten worse with the CCIA, - much, much worse.NYSRPA did not write and does not support ANY portion of the CCIA and changes made aganist Dealers or persons who could otherwise lawfully posesse a gun, to think them the enemy is astoundingly stupid.
I’m sick of hearing this and I feel it is an outright lie.
When we hear “my vote doesn’t count” you’re correct, when you DON’T get out there and vote it DOESN’T COUNT! We are now in a struggle with NYS government because of the lack of gun owners voting, if we had every man & woman that owned a gun out there at the polls during the election things would not be what they are right now here in NYS! Whether you get out there and vote or not you are making an impact... with not voting you’re allowing this to continue.
My vote doesn’t count and I have voted in every single election since I was 18 years old except for one when I had last minute travel for work and couldn’t get an absentee ballot and my supervisor heard about it for sure. I can tell you no one I vote for except local level gets elected and possibly one or if I’m lucky two court level people. Every gun owner and conservative I know votes. I even switched from conservative to republican so I can vote in the primaries and I have been. I think this is an excuse for their failures and so we keep giving money so we don’t say all hope is lost…. All hope is lost in case you didn’t figure that out. They also fail to understand many gun owners and hunters would still vote democrat so maybe their statement on face value is accurate but they fail to see many would vote democrat.
NYSRPA has always been somewhat "quiet" however they have been effective, and you've got to remember it's almost entirely volunteer; the only paid persons are an Office Manager/Membership Solicitor/Representative and the Executive Director. A significant portion of the Membership comes from Down State especially Long Island, and until Cuomo made access to the Legislature via the State Office Buildings verboten under the scamdemic of covid, NYSRPA Representatives had direct and daily access to both the Assemblypersons and Senators. As for Social Media and other venues of distributing information; that too was volunteer, but never really got the job done, so it was hired out and was not successful either. They DO publish a monthly Newsletter/Magazine, Letters and solicitations DO go out to Members both current and past, Directors (volunteers) DO go and meet with Candidates, PAC's, Groups, Clubs, etc.I don't necessarily view NYSRPA as the enemy. While I see GOA, SAF, FPC, and others working hard for our gun rights, I don't see NYSRPA as being very effective. YMMV. But that's they way I see it.
Similar to all of the disease associations (American Cancer Society, Susan B. Koman Foundation, Heart Association, etc.) when they tell everyone that buys into their BS that they are so close to a cure, they just need more of your money lol.I really would not call anything a success just yet. All of the money donated over the years and we have less and less rights every step of the way. I am not sure that doing anything at this point is going to help NY. Fund raising is a damned if you do, damned if you don't: "I get sick of all the Letters begging for money..." and "Why don't you do a raffle or something to raise money?" Think on it for a minute, if you've got real, honest, suggestions I'd love to hear them.
You wouldn't believe the number of calls every day from people all across the State seeking information, help, answers, complaints about the Laws and "what are you doing about it!?" Well the first question back is "Are you a member, and if so your name so we can look it up." Most aren't, and aren't interested in joining, only complaining or wanting free help like they're the Southern Poverty Law Center...well it just isn't so.
And back to "effectiveness" Please point out the Case(s) the other Organizations have won in NY... "NY Firearms Association" anyone? Humm? Follow this link into the Rabbit Hole for that one: aaron dorr firearms association - Google Search
VOTE!!!!

And why do you say that?Tom King and his wife are both cunts!
That's 2 years of Wayne's salary. How gracious of them.Would it be better there wasn't any word from them?
I receive e-mails every week, sometimes daily from GOA, SAF, and others referring back to the Bruen Case which NYSRPA won in the Supreme Court.
NRA kicked in 2.2 Million Dollars towards the first Suit, yet the "the NRA doesn't do anything for NY, it's a lost cause" mantra continues.
The "delays" and "Slow walking" of Cases seems to plague ALL the Pro-2A groups.
Love them, hate them, or be indifferent of them, NYSRPA is working and towards the same end goal.
Well, the figurehead of NYSRPA did shit all over his members for "violently ruining the lawn", so there's that. And why do you say that?
Of what difference should your dislike of them detract from the mission of the Association?
If I said I hate Trump, does that mean I shouldn't support the Republican Party?
I'm a bitter ex member. Go way back to Trumps first run in the primary election. He was highly entertaining front runner but there were many including me that questioned and spoke-out against his history. long time anti-gun support, pro Clinton backer and his general history as Democrat. King and his wife would have no discussion if it wasn't 100% pro Trump. His wife was a little Hitler deleting all comments against any other incumbent, then blocking and banning members having civil discussions. I'm over being civil with them. And why do you say that?

Same place they were with the SafeAct.where is the NRA and NYSRPA now with the CCIA ?

Huh?you need to have an endorsement on your CC permit to even touch a semiauto 22LR rifle or any semiauto rifle,
To go to the store and hold one and purchase one is what I'm referring to.Huh?
Last I knew you only need that to take possession of one. If you already own it, it doesn't matter.
