It didn't gains traction because it's a stupid protest. I'm OK with them doing it because it's protected speech, however causing an inconvenience for a bunch of people that have nothing to do with why you are upset isn't a good way to make them sympathetic to your cause.
Example, If I decided to picket for something unrelated to your business but right outside of your business because it was a high traffic area (where I am in protected public space) and it drove your customers away, I bet you'd be less likely to support whatever cause I was out protesting for.

Man that is sad. So many functionaries in DC just like him. I remember my first encounter with it, years and years ago. I was in DC working and got invited to go out to play paintball - which was a new thing at the time. Went to a party afterward with my host and it came out that we were there after battling ti out, and having tons of fun, playing paintball. So, that’s when the attacks began. All the concernd little liberals, so upset at the violence we were promoting had to get in my face. Of course, I asked each and everyone, have you ever tried paintball to give you a valid perspective on it? Unanimous answer - NO, of course not. That right there was the beginning of my secret journey away from the liberal sphere.

Same goes for airsoft. I occasionally play informal airsoft or paintball skirmishes and some retarded folks just think we are going to one day use real weapons out in the general public to mow down people.
