Video Sharing Privacy Question

So if I embed a video (I just used Vimeo), does the host site privacy settings dictate who can see it? Is there a way to have the video private on their site, but have anyone who links to it from the NYG page be able to see it?

I've never used Vimeo before, so I can't help you with that specifically. YouTube does offer that I believe. You can make it so the video isn't searchable and they need the direct link to access it. Vimeo may have something similar.
