Not hard at all. Optionally take a class, but you have to provide fingerprints, Pay $60 for the application, $15 to take the test, and pass a test. It's recommended that you get insurance (seriously). Then, it's $60 to renew every so often (3 years?).

I think voter ID laws are really a Band-Aid on a gunshot wound. I'd rather fix our illegal immigration problem so that we don't have to worry about presenting ID to vote. Just like I think we need to fix the criminal justice system so that bad guys are behind bars and good people don't have to deal with absurd background checks to buy a gun.

That's why I said I can understand your logic. But I followed it up with the question do we really want more regulations? The ideal thing for me would be less regulations which would include less regulations for the Second Amendment as well. I don't think the answer is more regulations even if it would largely only affect the left. But again I'm not saying I'm against the voter ID and I'm not saying I'm for it it's something I would have to ponder on.

As a point of fact. Try getting an Enhanced Drivers license. The same Proof of residency should apply during the
REGISTRATION!
A one time deal.
You bring in a utility bill or tax record for the address your are living at during the registration. Then after that it is as simple as a change of address.
After all votes start out at the local level first - precinct ward or what ever they call it in other states.

ACORN and the progressive have corrupted the VOTER REGISTRATION PROCESS and the rest as they say is history.
