OK decided not to wait any longer and contacted Amazon Customer Service - this is clearly a scam. I filed a claim that is now working its way to the claims team. Rep was super helpful but it looks like it can take up to 10 days to resolve. If you're planning to call here's some info to share:
1 - how many times have you tried to contact seller? (I have tried twice so far - Amazon process recommends waiting 48 hours for merchant to respond - they may bypass this step if you are insistent. I was.)
2 - tell them seller is still on Amazon Marketplace and is getting terrible reviews for not delivering/fraud. Ratings currently at only 6% positive
3 - tracking shows completely different zip code (my order showed California)
Even the rep said it was very unlikely that they will be able to get in touch with merchant.
An a separate note if you have paid with Visa, MC or Amex you can call your issuer and dispute the charge as never received/fraud. Your bank will handle the claim but may require you go through Amazon to try to contact seller.
