Local gun sore has a used P99 in stock for $389. Neat gun. Great, unique trigger. Looks only lightly used. Good deal or no?

Lol. I'm surprised you beat him to the thread. Unless he's mad at me for a previous thread, i look forward to his completely unbiased input.Nope. Youd be related to @Darth
Nah man, they are bad guns.

Holy Jesus. I knew you had at least two, not five. I really like the gun. Only thing that's iffy is that the grip isn't very, well, grippy.
Good price.
Before I got mine I was looking for one in 9mm but could only find compacts which are too small for my hands. My FFL friend could have gotten me a smokin deal on a new one but I wanted a full size. The only full size I found was my P99 in .40 so I grabbed it. Wasn't a great deal on price but it was fair, very very few rounds. Almost no wear marks anywhere. Why are p99's so hard to find?
They seem like very nice pistols but just never caught on and not a lot of after market love.
Anyone know why?
I feel like walther makes some very nice pistols (i like mine so far) but they don't seem to be in the normal conversations or comparisons.
I feel like I should buy a G19 as my next pistol but every time I hold a ppq I really like it. I've yet to hold a p99
I really do prefer all metal pistols. I own one polymer pistol. I just cannot find an all metal pistol that can do what the polymer pistol I own does.
My one polymer pistol is a Walther P99
Just my two cents.
I have looked for over two years and have not found an all metal 9mm pistol that emulates my P99. I thought the CZ 75 D PCR was going to do it but nope. Admittedly much of it is personal preference. What I really like about the P99.That's a pretty glowing endorsement.
Mine has the longer paddle for the Mag. Release. I guess it is what most would call Gen. 3.One of the biggest reasons I even looked at it is because of the paddle release. I love it on my pistols that have it. With my small hands i don't have to move the gun in my hand at all to actuate it. The lever is alot smaller than the VP9, P30, and PPQ but it works. The trigger on it is the coolest thing. Full DA, SA, and it has a light DA pull too i think.
I asked if they would take $375 for it, so it's on layaway, waiting until it can come home with someone who will appreciate it.

Bought mine about seven years ago for $450.00 with standard capacity Pre Ban Magazines that have to live at a friend's in VT now.
I probably should grab another P99 while I can, but I keep looking for that elusive all metal P99 wannabe.
It’s not a Glock, so what’s the point? Just get a Glock.
Or an M&P or a P10F/C/S
Or HK VP9 VP9sk
These too are not Glocks. Dispose of them and purchase a Glock.
I've had Glocks. And 1911's, and other various brands/models. The P99 is light years ahead of them IMO. I don't care if the Walther has no aftermarket support, it doesn't need it, and it doesn't need to fit into the fan boy base. It’s not a Glock, so what’s the point? Just get a Glock.
You need more pistols.
That's only my my P99s and Berettas. You need more pistols.

You can get sights and holsters for every modern handgun made, including Walthers. I'm talking about better barrels, slides, and the other fancy horse shit needed to make other guns good shooters. The Walthers don't need it IMO. Even their faqctory sights are pretty good. I'd only change them to get night sights, no other reason. The Walther triggers are outstanding out of the box. The same can't be said for 99% of the other handguns on the market. You can get triggers, sights, holsters, for the majority of modern pistols. The "aftermarket support" arguments are garbage.
