Walther PPQ 22 issue

Took the PPQ 22 to the range tonight and had an odd experience with it. Loaded it up, chambered a round, pulled trigger, nothing. It felt weird too, like there was not enough tension in the pull. It had a distinctive click, but no fire. Pulled trigger again, and the round fired. It did this every time. Probably sixty rounds worth. It fired on the first pull maybe twice. All other times, nothing with first pull, then fired on the second. It's not ammo related as you could tell something was funky even dry firing. The gun is kinda dirty, but not sure what the issue could be. My internal firearm acumen is limited at best. Any idea what could be up with it?

Edit: Now that I think about it, I'm able to get a reset trigger sometimes just by pulling it twice without having to rack the slide. Weird

I would strip it down to the bare essentials, looking for unusual wear on any parts, make everything spotless clean, lube where it should be lubed, reassemble and try it again. If the problem still exists I would send it in for a look see. Is it one made when they were in cahoots with S&W? I've heard bad things about that era. It is a rock solid proven design so unless its dirt it should be looked at.

Thanks. I'll give that a shot. I heard the same thing, but i thought that was regarding the P22. I'll update when I get a look at it.

Mine ( PPQ) did this right out of the box I sent it in to Walther and they sent me a brand new gun .

I don't think it is. All the literature with the gun and the research I've done says it was made in Ulm. Regardless, I'll get to the bottom of it.

I think this is the issue with my ruger sr22. I have to try some better ammo and if that’s not it I’m sending it back. I’ll bet I’m sending it back. I was hoping it might be the recoil spring, but I tried an aftermarket one and it did nothing.

Cleaned it up, took it to the range and all was well... until the fourth magazine or so. Then out did the same thing intermittently, then every round again. Gotta be cuz it's getting really dirty. There's a bunch of oil residue in the action. I'm assuming from shipping since I didn't lube it nearly that much. I'm using the last of my thunderbolts too which aren't helping the dirt issue. I'll clean that up real good again, blow it out and see what happens. The thing shouldn't stop working after 40 rounds. I don't care how dirty it is, or whether it's an Umarex or Ulm gun.

And blow it out with compressed air? It doesn't leave any residue. I'd like to take the whole fire control group (if it could be called that) out, but the roll pins aren't budging and I don't want to wreck anything trying to drift them out. Any thoughts? Thanks

Clean any gun that is new to you! A used gun you don't know how it was maintained by previous owner! A new gun may say it is lubed and ready to go from the factory, Are you sure you didn't get one that was made on Monday morning or Friday afternoon?

Second I don't like or use Thunderbolts or any Remington 22 for that matter! (Dirty yes!!) try some CCI SV or Mini Mags, Blazer is also a CCI product and $5.00 cheaper a brick then Thunderbolts at Dicks and F&S!

^ Thanks. The gun isn't new to me, it just started giving me a dead trigger after using Thunderbolts. There was tons of firing residue in there making everything super gritty. I won't be using those in there anymore once I get it cleaned back up.

I was just at Dick's yesterday and saw the Blazer 500 round box for $25. Not a bad deal.
