Sorry for the confusion, i meant the amendment to add pistol.Updated PP….full carry?
I was just about to mail mine in for the full carry amendment. Bother!Sorry for the confusion, i meant the amendment to add pistol.
I didnt bother sending in the request for full carry since i asked a lady at the county clerk office, she said dont bother sending in full carry amendments yet since they wont be touching them until after september.
That sounds great dude! I submitted mine in July. Still waiting..I received my full carry permit yesterday from Westchester County.
Mines with the judge as well ,the thing is if it's not dated by the 1st of September we're shit out of luck and will have to do the training .That sounds great dude! I submitted mine in July. Still waiting..
Ninja edit. I just called the county clerk office and the lady there said. My Amendment cleared public safety and now it's at the judge's desk to be signed. Fingers crossed here.
That not true. If the application was submitted before Sept 1 then you are still under the old regime. Aside from the new law being enjoined you will have to take the training before renewing your license. And that is even debatable.Mines with the judge as well ,the thing is if it's not dated by the 1st of September we're shit out of luck and will have to do the training .
Not according to Hochul she just said it today it's the date that matters .That not true. If the application was submitted before Sept 1 then you are still under the old regime. Aside from the new law being enjoined you will have to take the training before renewing your license. And that is even debatable.
If you're asking me, I don't know BUT I think you'll have to comply with the new regulations. If I apply now, I would have to take the traing course? Is that what I'm getting?
What would you gain, anyway? The whole friggin' state was declared a "sensitive location" in direct rebuke of SCOTUS.did I screw up by not applying for full carry amendment?

I would say yes. if you look at the county clerk website. you need to pass "restriction change worksheet" along with the amendment forms now. They just added that last night on their website I thinkIf I apply now, I would have to take the traing course? Is that what I'm getting?
you and me brotherdid I screw up by not applying for full carry amendment?
at this point your right. What will happen if you get caught violating your restriction? You got bigger problems now. Like a felonyWhat would you gain, anyway? The whole friggin' state was declared a "sensitive location" in direct rebuke of SCOTUS.
What was the date on the pistol permit issued ?I'll share my recent experience to give those who applied for a full carry prior to 9/1/22 some hope:
The morning after the Bruen decision, I went to the clerks office in White Plains and asked for my target restriction to be removed. In the area of the form that asks to state the reason, I simply wrote "for self defense and all lawful purposes." After reading on this thread that some who applied were receiving their carry permits, I decided to call the clerks office two days ago. The woman with the thick accent answered and was very impatient. She told me that nothing was looked at and it would be at least several months before I heard anything.
Well, I opened the mail today and to my surprise my full carry arrived. I hope that all those who applied will have the same end result as me. I'm going to post this in another thread as well.
I was gonna ask a similar question. Since Westchester residents have to go through the same process NYC resident have to go through. Can we carry in NYC now?Since there is no mention about NYC in Penal Law 400.00 (18) stating sensitive areas where firearms are prohibited, does that mean we are now allowed to carry with our NYS Pistol Permits into NYC ?

It was dated 8/30/22. Nothing else in the envelope but my permit and the normal letter they attach it to.What was the date on the pistol permit issued ?
Did they send you a copy of Penal Law 400.00 (18) for you to acknowledge, notarize and return ?
Thanks in advance.

My application to amend from sportsman to full carry was sent in a couple of months ago but when I received it the other day it was dated 9/14/22. They sent me a copy of Penal Law 400 (18) to acknowledge, notarize and return with my updated permit. I'm afraid if I do this it would signal for them to have me do the new 16 hour training. I already have a pistol permit for 10 years. Is this new training requirement for new permit holders or for all permit holders who amend or recertify their pistol permits ?
