Considering that white men are under attack in this country I could tell them I'm in fear for my life because of the Democrats and the liberal media.
Great county for that argument.

I would like to upgrade to a full carry after I recertify my Westchester Sportsman handgun license.
I'm squeaky clean and don't even have a moving violation.
I was wondering if I got an NRA Pistol instructors certification to ad to my many
other NRA, NYS Hunters Certificate and Sig Sauer Academy certificates would it help.
I know a few civilians that have gotten full carry licenses in Westchester.
Being I have had my license for 5 years and plenty of training what are your thoughts on this ?
Thanks in advance.
Speaking from experience, there is only one thing that matters in Westchester if you want to remove restrictions and go to Full Carry and you are not former LEO. That one thing is proper cause. Training certificates, range officer, NRA instructor, good guy, 5 years with a Sportsperson, none of that matters unless you can show proper cause. Proper cause must be a direct verifiable threat on your life or some circumstance above and beyond the average person that justifies your need to carry a firearm involving large sums of cash or valuables outside of a business. If you can’t show proper cause, you are out of luck. This may not be fair and I am not saying I agree with it, but it is what it is. As long as NY is a May Issue State and as long as Westchester conforms to this principle, proper cause is the key. I am willing to bet that anyone on this forum that has a Full Carry in Westchester is either a former LEO or has shown proper cause as I describe it above.
Do you have your Full Carry in Westchester? If yes, elaborate on “not exactly” so I can be educated. Not exactly.
Now for a civilian trying to get a permit they will have to choose between target or hunting.
Or knows people. Youre onvthe money, but I do know someone personally who has it and fits none of the above.Speaking from experience, there is only one thing that matters in Westchester if you want to remove restrictions and go to Full Carry and you are not former LEO. You know what else matters not?
Restrictions.
Made up fantasy. Carry on.

You do need to show good cause but it doesn't need to include police reports or a direct threat to your life. Out of state full carry permits, NRA certifications and documented training do help.
It didnt for me, I was told I needed to show "Good Cause" and a hobby isnt a good enough reason. I wish I could find the letter.Maybe that worked for you, but that did not work for me and I don't think it worked for Celt, but he will need to speak for himself.
It boils down to this. What's more important? Your collection or your life? If I were in that situation, it would be my life. My collection would be useless if I got killed.Yeah I guess, until you get caught carrying outside of them. Probably unlikely you would get caught, but it is possible. I guess it would be a good test of how meaningful the restrictions are. Each person has to determine their willingness to test the system and take the chance of having their permit revoked and having to turn in their firearms. The new Westchester County Pistol Handbook states clearly on page 33 section XIII item 1f that carrying outside of a restriction is grounds for revocation of a pistol permit. All boils down to your willingness to accept risk for violating the instructions of the licensing official (judge).
100000% agree, here on Long Island full carry never gets issued unless you are former LEO, the administrative "sportsman" restrictions are meaningless, Suffolk County has a form to "upgrade" to full carry but I have not heard of anyone getting approved. It boils down to this.
