There is really no way to know the how or what.
That said, you'd be wise to stock up on essentials such as food, water, guns, ammo, medical supplies and things you can barter with. Decide if you are going to bug in or big out and plan accordingly. It is too easy to go over board with trying to hoard everyday comforts etc. You'd be better off focusing on the basics because you will adapt to living without most things we take for granted.
Some wilderness survival courses might be a good idea and also learn how to do and make stuff the old fashioned way.
That is where I'd start.

1)Not worry about it.
2)Buy cheap and sell high
2a) You have 40-50 years to invest in your future.
3) Recessions typically last about 10-17 months.
3a) You might see the prime interest rate go to 10% if the economy starts to overheat and you might see it go back to 0% if it slows down.
4) Nothing more than I am doing now, keep putting money in my 401K and retire in 8-10 years.
5)Anyone making crystal ball predictions will most likely be wrong.

Im doing something most people don't think of, we (the wife and I) are going "minamalist" we are getting rid of 90% of our stuff in preperation of moving to an RV in the next two years.. we are gathering food, ammo and nonperishable items.

No it's just common sense. If an EMP happens and there is no food fuel or anything like that and people are starving, what is a precious metal going to do?
I wouldn't take your gold coin. Would you take my gold coin if your family was starving for your food and tools?
Amen, I feel like gold and silver are only useful for a civilized society and a formed society/government.
