What do you pay to shoot at your range?

I am in charge of membership at our range. Every so often people complain, or abuse the membership by letting family or friends come shoot more than our twice and you need to be a member rule.

We shoot 22 rifle and 22-50 cal pistol. No pistol caliber carbines or shotguns.

Anyway, it's 24 hour access for our 50ft indoor range, that's all we have. You may not shoot during leagues which all but the Juniors run from September to March. We also close for a few State matches. Leagues are Monday 5-7, Wed 6-8 or so (open to anyone league)..., Friday 6-10 and Sunday Juniors noon - 4. And Thursday 8-10 for maintenance.

We charge $125 a year plus a 1$ target fee or a 30$ unlimited shooting fee.

Key fob if you need it is $5.

We also prorate the fees by month if you don't join in September.

I think it's a hell of a deal. I pay the $30 unlimited target fee.

I shot at the Cabin Range & Armory in Wilkesbarre and while it's really fancy. $18 an hour lane fee. Not sure on targets. Or a $375 a year unlimited fee. Hours are limited though.

So, if you belong to a range with indoor capability, what do you pay?

I think it's $180/year, has a 200 yard rifle range, archery to 50 yards, 3D range ($5 or so per use), outdoor pistol (20+ bays I think--but it's rarely got more than a person or two), and a couple dozen (?) indoor pistol (25 yards). Nothing "tactical" about it, so it's basically all paper shooting; no metal plates unfortunately (a few metal silhouettes only, from what I can tell).

All calibers allowed on the rifle range. Pistol range allows only pistol caliber and 22.

I wish they'd dump one of the outdoor pistol ranges and fill it with plates and fun things to shoot at. Shooting paper gets old so incredibly fast.

There is also a bird preserve and land upstate with a cabin available for hunting & fishing.

Woodbury Field & Stream Club is $150 a year with a $350 initiation and has a 100 yard rifle & pistol range, an archery range, a trap field, a stocked pond for fishing and a bird preserve.

Hartland Conservation Club --------- $30.00 per year + you have to either sell or buy raffle tickets during the year which total out to $70.00 per year.
25 yd - 100 yd outdoor and 50' indoor .22 only on the indoor range. Also 2 trap ranges.

Lockport Conservation Club --------- $95.00 per year for family membership. 50' indoor only. Most pistol calibers and .22 rifles

I belong to a club that shoots at a public range and we get 2 nights a month for 2 hours for $75. Sometimes it gets busy and you don’t get to shoot all night, to give someone else a chance.

110 yard outdoor range, about a dozen lanes..
trap league takes over the range on certain nights..
indoor range 50-60' , about 6 or 8 lanes . .. all new ventilation / heat system for lead dust ..
leagues cost extra .. pay to play..

the 50 and 100 yard range in my backyard cost me about $ 5500. in NYS property / school taxes

I do not belong to a range. There is an awesome range that allows all LEO to shoot for only $4 per trip. They have everything needed to shoot skeet, pistol, rifle. Awesome range.

If not there, I use my land. Not a fan of shooting at a club due the overbearing rules and regulations.

4-Points Rod & Rifle in Scottsville. $95/yr for a family. 2 trap fields and 2 skeet fields and a covered pistol and rifle range from 25yrds (6 lanes for pistol) to 50yards to 200yards ( one 200 yrd lane)

The ranges are free for club members and you can bring ONE guest, although many members bring more and take up a lot of lanes. Trap and skeet are $2 per tokens and two tokens per round. The fields and mechinery is in great shape and we have a lot of in-house trap shoots. The club is open on Thursday night from 5pm to 8:30 for socializing and trap shooting, if you want to shoot. if you would like to join, Thurday night is the time to show up and say hi. 4400 (rt-259) Union st Scottsville rd. 1st driveway (eastside) just south of the thruway

Competitions a few days a week. USPSA once a month. Full club house for member’s use (no parties, thinking hanging out with other members. Very liberal guest policy. We can even bring our children, no age restrictions at all. Best of all, if its legal for you, its legal there...

People spends 10s of thousands of $$$ on guns and the hobby oer year.

I want my club to raise the rates so we get a better clientele. Not just cheap okd FUDDS we gave now.

There are plenty of shiuty ild ranges that the poor old times can go ahoot at once per year if they want to sight in their rifles. But for up and coming state of the art, match running clubs, people should pony up.

If they cant afford it them maybe quit the $100/day smoking addiction!

Is the defensive league open to the public? I'm a member at greenway and our league is in the summer, so having another league to shoot in would be great.

To the OPs question. I'm a current member at greenway Verona mills and it was $60 the first year and $30 after that. We have a 50' indoor pistol range 24 hour access. An outdoor 100 yard range open during daylight.

I use to be a member at canastota fish and game. Their memberships were large but they had a 600 yard range. The facilities were very nice. They've had some rocky times with prolonged closes because a neighbor was torturing them. I didnt enjoy that club or utilize as much as I should so I moved on. I'm lucky I have access to a much longer shot on private land so I lost all desire to rejoin that club.

This is part of my argument. If you can afford the guns and ammo, then you should be able to afford the range fee. If not, you got the wrong hobby.

Our leagues are extra but cheap. I pay 1$ for sporter rifle on Mondays, my kids are free. Wednesday, the 2 handed pistol league is 3$, the alternate steel plate challenge is 5$. Friday bullseye is 3$ per gun.

We can also shoot FMJ, the other clubs are lead only.

Plus we have a JR program.

$125 a year. .41 a day. 2.40 a week. 10.42 a week.

I have no idea, but years ago I shot in a winter .22 league and wasn't a member at the time. I use the club very little .. I was a member of Greenway for one year but every time I wanted to use the outdoor range someone had it tied up with a chronograph.. I didn't care for the indoor range either ..
