Do they still do the gun show special where they wave the initiation fee if you sign up at the show?

How do you like the Brooks club?
I had considered joining, but I got more of a country-club vibe from it rather than a traditional gun club vibe. They seem more focused on skeet and trap shooting than anything else.
I'm w/ the Genesee Conservation League. ~$150 per year for access to all the outdoor facilities (indoor range adds a bit more cost):
200 yard rifle range w/ covered shooting positions (about 14).
1x archery range
2x 25 yard pistol ranges.
1x free movement (red-card) pistol range for more prac-app stuff.
I'm not too happy with the limited long range stuff and lack of shotgun (no buckshot allowed outside of patterning chokes for hunting season). But it is very convenient for basic rifle and pistol target shooting in the Rochester area, so I can't complain too much.
I love it there. Come check it out. If you want a tour I can meet you there. Out of 1700 members about 1300 are pistol/rifle only and a 100ish like me shoot all they offer.
Unfortantly pistol/rifle guys hardly ever come in the club so it does seem more shotgunners.
You can afford to have a cocktail there after you shoot if the bar is open. Weds till 10pm, Sat Sun till 5.
GCL’s red course makes me laugh. 1 step sideways. We can run n gun pretty much as long as your safe and rounds hit the back berm in certain areas. You can use steel in pistol bays but it has to be approved by manager.
Let me know if you need more info or want to meet up
I'm at the GCL for the time being, already paid my annual dues.
How many rifle lanes are there that go out to 200 yards? GCL isn't great with what it offers for rifle and shotgun, but I never have any trouble finding a lane to go all the way out to 200. GCL is mostly constrained by its location; its literally nestled in among a suburban neighborhood.
My Club SaraSpa Rod and Gun Club - Home is $205.00 to join after completing a 5 hour orientation class ( 3 hours for the NRA first steps rifle orientation course) and 2 hours roughly for sign-in review club safety rules and tour of the ranges with each ranges rules. Then your renewal is $125.00 a year ( Seniors (65+) are discounted 50%. 4 more years for me!) We just did a class yesterday with 35 new members and the 26th is the next and last till the fall.
Club has a 70' heated indoor range (12 lanes) open 27/7
Trap/5 Stand field
50 yard covered range with 28 stations 4 of which a hand cranked pistol target retrievers (20 yards)
And 100/200 yard cover range which is in the plans to be redone in the near future.
And a drainage and parking lot project is under way at the moment.
The Club has 120+ acres that the facility is on and purchased an additional 120+ acres across the road to be a buffer so no building could be done on that land (then new home owner would complain about the shooting.
I've been a member since 06 and the Club is 5 miles from my house.
