I actually agree the drugs should be all legal and controlled so that will end the crime like in Portugal but if there is a law who decides what laws have victims or not and why?

I agree that is a problem and understand your point of view but in order to be critical the issue is determining who is a victim or not is not an objective thing.
It is like with abortion, in society there is no agreement to what is right or not.

Just like drunk driving. One may have a few beers but plans to just go home, hit someone on the way and kill them, but they didnt intend to do so, but that would still constitute a crime.

But if they get home safely no crime

How about something simple ? Every prison stint you have served previously is a multiplier on the sentence for the next conviction.

Your 12th conviction would mean a 12x sentence.

Only the most petty criminals would live long enough to be released and commit crime #12.

Unfortunately we dont live in that world.
Do you know any seriously violent criminals? I do.
I know a guy who 47 years old.
Hes spent at least half of that in prison. Not for one crime, he has been convicted of DOZENS of crimes.
One time he was offended by a woman driver. He dragged her from her car ad broke her orbital bone with punches. A couple county workers stopped and held him for the cops. He did 6 years because he was a habitual felon.
Another time he beat up a guy in Tops so bad the guy lost sight in one eye.....he did a couple years.
He was arrested in high school for assaulting the principal.
He has been arrested at least 12 times for beating his GF of 20 years.....one with a knife.
He is also a raging meth head and has a history of beating his mother and killing animals. If he hada gun, he woud shoot someone within days.
Another guy used to go to bars looking for violent confrontations. He was arrested multiple times for assault. He is now serving time for forcible rape.
And then there is Vic.....by far the most violent and has already shot 2 people.
Vichas not had a single violence free day in his life. He has spent half his life i mental institutions.
Hes the only dude I know who, at 18 years old, got full disability because he is violent. He literally cannot be in public without commiting violence.
As far as I know, hes free right now.
If you dont know any real monsters then youre lucky, but they exist.
Dont even get started on the extremely violent gangbangers who are forced to commit murder or be murdered themselves.

I dont support any gun laws. Good citizens should not be infringed on because our system is fucked up and animals like the guys you mentioned walk free. I think the gov wants people like this to walk free to a certain extent because it instills fear in people, and when people are afraid they support more infringements on their freedom.

The guys you mentioned should never see the light of day again, WE shouldnt be punished because of THEIR actions.

If we accept that then we should all accept breathalyzers in our cars, and electronic speed limiters programmed by gps, micro chips for everyone so we can all be tracked, etc...

Again, I completely agree....but thats not the way it is.
Politicians closed most of the institutions that housed these crazies.

Only thing I think there should be is the most violent felons/domestic abusers and certifiable crazies should not be allowed to buy guns. That’s it. By certifiable crazies I mean remanded to a mental institution not I had an issue and need a script for Prozac. Also with the violent felons after a certain time without a felony say 5 years they should get their gun rights back.
I know and do understand that while you served your time and when you get out your good to go but it does is no good to have criminals get their hands on guns.

The problem is I don't trust the government to accurately make that distinction.

I'd rather live in a society where everyone was armed, and anyone attempting crazy shit is well aware they'll be gunned down in a matter of seconds for doing that crazy shit. The ultimate deterrent against crazy shit is the threat of being shot.
