Even the most strict conservative, law loving states have 10s of thousands of violent criminals walking the streets.
Ive said many times that I would rather my taxes go towards more prisons rather than welfare and housing undocumented aliens.

The world is made up of imperfect people. Small transgressions or mistakes should not cause you to lose a natural right.
It's ok to be different. Having different views, opinions and attitudes shouldn't negatively go against you. If you are worried about an impending alien invasion or are a guy who wants to be a girl, as long as you are not a threat to others, have at it. Live you life. Your right is your right. People don't have to agree with it but it should in no way cause you to lose a right.
^^^This 1 right here!^^^ WITHOUT exceptions!! I don't believe there should be restrictions of our Constitutional rights, period. If someone is a felon, serves their time, including parole (which is indirectly part of their sentence!!), then they should be able to own a gun. If more people were properly armed, the chances of recidivism would probably go down. That shit would solve itself. If the 2nd amendment wasn't being so infringed upon, there wouldn't be as much crime.

I couldn't agree more with the above quote, I see it down here, where it is pretty much a safe bet that the mass majority of Folks are carrying!! AND, we do not have shoot outs at high noon, and blood running in the streets as the gun-grabbing snowflakes want you to believe!!!

There are people who cannot be rehabilitated no matter how any times the are incarcerated.
There are gys with 30-40-50 arrests over 30 years. They have proven they cannot be trusted......but they are free.

Exactly the type of guy that doesn’t need a gun because he hurts our cause and he’s kill someone. I also agree with this guy should not be released from prison but at what point do you make that call. The 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 5th arrest? I also think at some point those doing life in prison if they continue to commit crimes or hurt others they should just be put to death.
But, there are people who cannot mentally handle gun ownership.
Heck, in the days of our founders there were groups that were denied guns.
Slaves, freed slaves, whites who refused to support the revolution and yes, violent criminals were denied.
And carrying concealed was seen as cowardly.

I understand the rest of your post, BUT, this part here ^^^ I have a problem with.
There are problems in our legal system. If they are violent, which would insinuate that they have been charged with some type of violent crime, then they should not be getting out any time soon. Add that to the fact that the prison system needs to be 're-tooled' so as to be a form of punishment, not an EFing social club, where it becomes 'old home week' when someone goes back in. Make prison a place where someone ABSOLUTELY fears having to go back to.
Get rid of the plea deal, get rid of early release, and get back to real sentences. It makes me crazy when I read that someone is convicted of murder, and gets a sentence of 20-30 years. WTF happened to 'serious' sentences, in 'serious' prisons? I think that might mitigate the 'seriously violent criminal' problem we have here.

I don't even think guns are more dangerous than other commonly accessible items. A lot of people were killed 25 years ago today with diesel fuel and fertilizer in Oklahoma City. In 1990, 87 people were killed by arson at the Happyland Social Club. I imagine a well motivated but unskilled individual could do a lot more harm with 5-10 gallons of gasoline than they could with a handgun or a rifle. But we regulate the crap out of guns more than gas and diesel because its more politically convenient.

How about something simple ? Every prison stint you have served previously is a multiplier on the sentence for the next conviction.
Your 12th conviction would mean a 12x sentence.
Only the most petty criminals would live long enough to be released and commit crime #12.

As far as felons go, right now their rights are automatically void on release, it shouldn’t be that way , every release should have rights restored, it should be on the state who needs to prove why they shout not have rights restored. That being said if someone is so far gone that they shouldn’t have a gun should they even be released?
I won’t get into how our prisons are ineffective, create criminals and make people worse then when they entered, that’s another problem for another discussion .

I'm not a complicated person. OP's question was "What gun laws do you support?", and my statement is my baseline answer. No thought was given to current statutory infringements in the making of this answer =)
And just a note as to Criticalt's statement.... these characters mentioned, in a just society, would have been either incarcerated for life just by accumulation of charges, or shot and killed by someone responding to their violence. The existence of these, or people like them, does not influence my (for example) stance on gun laws. Crime and punishment is a separate category entire from "What gun laws do you support" and these are the absolute last people in society who would even think to obey a law anyway, as their life patterns have obviously proven. Why they are free to roam is more an indictment of the trainwreck that is our justice system, rather than anything to do with laws regarding firearms.

Perhaps there should be also a test to determine if a citizen is qualified to vote like many other things.

I actually agree the drugs should be all legal and controlled so that will end the crime like in Portugal but if there is a law who decides what laws have victims or not and why? There is no time for debate or interpretation, if something is law or not it should be clear.
