I think they're 2 totally different things.
If you want to take it a step farther you could make the argument that we are no longer Gods favored nation where we were the example for the world to follow and since we have largely turned our backs to him and live in debauchery, so hes leaving us to ourselves and our own fate. That doesn't necessarily mean the rivers of lava and plagues are around the corner.

I love the lack of openess that most people have. Especially Xtians. Their way or no way.
When people speak of politics, political talk does not need to be about a candidate or a party... Politics are in everyday life. The way we live, social issues and all that jazz.
One reason I enjoy the forum, most of the time it is open and freindly conversation. Sometimes heated, but that is to be expected.

Not sure I agree 100%, but pretty close.. I personally think the 2A will have to go before they can dismantle the 1A completely.
We STILL have the guns, but they will come after them hard, and if they can't grab all the guns in short order, they will make sure you can't get ammo for them anywhere at any price... A lot depends on how brave we are as a people.. We may all have to make a choice to die defending our homes and freedoms, or living in tyranny . The vast majority will do the latter, perhaps hoping for "things to get better".
The local, county,state police, as well as the VAST majority of all the military branches WILL kill their fellow citizens without question or hesitation if they are told to do so... Please my friends, NEVER make the mistake of thinking police and military will side with righteous civilians... They will do as they are told... We truly are on our own... bob

The Second Amendment and support of it is in great decline. The First Amendment's decline is even greater. I look back and I remember how many gun owners just in NY gave in to the wants and the demands of the SAFE Act. I agree, we have the guns now, some of us have ammo. What happens when the Federal and/or the State governments tax the ammo that we buy at 100% the cost? What happens when they tax all reloading supplies at 100% the cost? Would that be deemed UN-Constitutional? Probably not. They have invaded our Right to Bear arms in the past and little has been done by the courts.
I agree that the vast majority of Americans will give in to do exactly what they are told to do. ie, live in tyranny. Shame. Local and County Police/Sheriff, I think, will be more on the side of the People. State Police and the Federal Law Enforcement agencies? I think closer to the Governments side. The Military? Wow, that is a tough one. There are many great people in our Armed Forces, not sure what they will think and do.
I agree, for the most part, we are alone in this. Alone, among our family and close friends....
I think the 1a and 2a are both in trouble and we are incrementally losing them at the same time. The pace will quicken the more power and control the left obtains.
I'm also not sure about who is loyal to what.
My pure speculative opinion is that the military would fracture or split. Between all the branches, active guard and reserve it would be a confusing cluster of a mess.
I think most veterans would heavily tilt towards the patriot/freedom/conservative side.
Local law enforcement would be much more favorable to us than federal or state.
It would be a mess all the way around.
Our ancestors lived far closer to nature, and reality, than we do.
Their ancient stories and beliefs are based on wisdom, passed on from the beginning.
We think we know better.
We are fools.
Most of my being is based in nature and the teachings of my ancestors, their beliefs and their gods. I have never seen clearer.

In my life time the second amendment has always been under fire and has lost ground consistently in the last seventy years. What is shocking to me is the unabashed assault on the First Amendment, never, ever, in my worst, gloomiest days did I think I would see that in my country.
