Former Sheriff Clarke complains about what the liberals are doing, yet everything he complains about is something that the conservatives did all throughout Obama's term in office. You guys talk about needing to defend yourselves with force, and I could point you to any number of threads on the LGC forum where people talk about needing to defend themselves from conservatives. Both sides are accusing each other of exactly the same faults and crimes.

I'm learning not to believe any of it.

No idea. The only thing I know is my own line in the sand has long been crossed. We need to be doing this now, right now. Instead of pansy ass liberals heckling Republicans out of restaurants I want to see stuff like this happening to democrats:

How in G-d's name can we all come together when we have a different code we choose to live by? As a constitutional conservative I just want that to be the law of the land and be left alone to live my life based on the principles this country was founded on. We are also a country founded on the rule of law, law that is based on the constitution. Every single year for quite some time the rule of law has been interpreted to push an agenda, interpreted to create rules for some but not for all and interpreted to push for the "fundamental change" of this country. I can own this, I can't own that, must pay for this, can't pay for that, etc.. Then we see our sovereignty scrutinized, judged and ridiculed by those who want nothing more than to morph the United States into a third world country dependent more and more on government and less on individual responsibility and freedom. Sure there is fringe ideology on both ends of the spectrum but overall I see those like myself are constantly asked to give and take with the result being more is given and more is taken from those like myself. Guns is just the issue that is the crux of this forum. So you see @eris I run what I see and hear through the constitution to see if it passes muster or not. That's my reference. It is a document that is as close to perfection as I know. If someone's values happen to coincide with it we are on solid ground relationship wise. If someone's idea of utopia is in stark contrast to it's values, well, I have ZERO desire to get along. I will leave you alone though if you afford me the same courtesy. If you choose not to let me live in the way this country was founded, then we do have a big problem. Like I have said before, I didn't start this. They did.

Really? REALLY? Perhaps you can jog my memory but I’m having a really hard time recalling roving bands of masked up, black-clad conservatives attending every liberal protest, beating up peaceful liberals on a near daily basis. Assaulting marines like what happened in Philly recently. I’m having a hard time recalling conservative riots like what black lives matter did multiple times. I don’t really remember a crew of conservative rioting throughout DC busting windows and setting fires to cars during Obama’s inauguration. I do remember leftist doing that though

And now here’s the thing. I don’t even hate your standard liberal. At least with them you can argue, a standard liberal respects things like free speech. And I get that a lot of events I described are not your typical liberal, but are instead a more radical far leftist group. However, what is undeniable is that this far left group has grown and size, and correspondingly its influence, such that it’s ideas are now mainstream within the establishment party.
So I’m not really buying your argument. To their fault conservatives have been on the defensive for awhile. The biggest shit you had during the Obama’s years was a surge in gun purchases and the resurgence in the militia movement, which scared the piss out of the talking heads. But all in all these militias adopted defensive stances, they trained but in preparation, they were reactive not offensive. I cannot say the same about the extreme ends of the left. I like to think of every member as a freind here.

But ultimately @eris where I'm at is I'm just done. Every day there is some insane piece of news that is just the most nonsensical bullshit to the point my brain melts.
Ultimately the only thing I really care about is indvidual liberty. And the two bell weather amendments of liberty, the 1st and the 2nd are, and have been, under full court press and it is democrats that are always the face of it. Oh I am well aware of the RINOs and the reality of our single party system. But what it comes down to is that to me Liberty is more important than life.
The bearing of arms are the ultimate expression of personal liberty. And I would rather die, and most certainly kill, than give one further millimeter of my inherent and inalienable rights. The democrats have gone way too far, and I will not abide it any longer.
I think the only way forward is to duke it out in a civil war. This is what elements of certain political systems are wanting, I wish to see to it that these carefully laid plans backfire, tremendously.

To keep to the topic of “where do we go from here” I guess I can say on the bright side I at least see that a lot of people are waking up to the fact that we are fracturing. There seem to be a lot of people seemingly egging each other on. Some internet tough guy claiming “civil war is coming” followed by people saying things along the line of “you’ve been saying that for years and done nothing”.

I think the pro-liberty movement lacks a couple of things 1) being organization and 2) being its Lexington and concord moment, that “shot heard round the world”. 3) could be effective leadership.

You gotta keep in mind that the American Revolution wasn’t instantaneous, a lot of it was a response against taxes imposed after the French and Indian war and took decades to build up. Eventually leaders such as the Adams cousins and Handcock arose, some more reluctant than others. But they stepped up when they were needed. Who is our modern day Sam adams?
Furthermore they had militias. If you are serious about being prepared to defend liberty I think joining a militia is critical.
I think right now we are still in the grievance stage of pre revolutionary times. You need to remember the founders tried for years at directly petitioning the government. They sent franklin overseas to lobby, they wrote petitions. The Declaration was a last resort and most did not want war. I think the majority still holds out hope that violence can be averted, and that’s not a bad thing. But bad times breed strong men, strong men breed good times, good times breed weak men, and weak men breed bad times.

Question. If I went over to the forum eris is from (don't know what that is) and tried to have a discussion would it be as civil as in this thread? I'm asking, even if I communicated as civily as eris is now and not going over there purposefully trolling. Who is the local opposition there? In other words who is the eris of that forum that is allowed to speak freely? Or would I be met with a pile on of name calling and demanding that I change my views. Would I get banned just for having a differing view? Within these questions I think you would find the differences between liberals and conservatives.

I think almost everyone can agree that no one wants violence. I sure don't want it.

I think there are some on the left who mean well that we just have differences of opinions with and that's ok, nothing wrong there.

My issue is I feel that the far fringe (cultural marxist, socialist) left is growing increasingly powerful and has a disproportionately large voice in politics, media and entertainment. They are constantly telling me I'm wrong or trying to incrementally take my rights and freedoms.

Every day I'm told that for my beliefs and political opinions I'm told some combination of, I'm an idiot, uneducated, Neanderthal, backwards, a clinger, fascist, rascist, sexist, fundamentalist, xenophobe, homophobe etc and I'm none of those things. Our dear governor famously said "if you're an extreme conservative who is pro life, pro gun and pro God then you have no place in NY"


Every year my rights gradually get taken away, my taxes go up, my say in the government grows smaller, when my voice is finally heard it's continually blocked by obstructionist faceless federal bureaucrats, out of control politically legislating judicial officials, extreme Congress reps, etc.

There is no accountability. There is a clear double standard. The rule of law only goes 1 way.

I am equally angry at the Republican legacy establishment. They have condoned this and looked the other way for far too long. They have allowed this system to become what it is.

I'm not trying to tell anyone else what to do or how to live their lives. but there's a problem, the left is constantly telling me how to live mine.

There are a few members here (they can chime in if they want) who were the typical far left card carrying liberal activist types who realized what was happening and how the entire far left platform is an illusion and charade.

The left does not endorse communism. Liberal politicians are in bed with big banks and corporations - they are as far from communist as it's possible to get.

But that is a component of communism/socialism. Communism and socialism benefit the elite, not the people. Politicians (all of them) only care about themselves and those close to them. Tell me that doesn’t sound like some of the communist/socialist governments.

Question. If I went over to the forum eris is from (don't know what that is) and tried to have a discussion would it be as civil as in this thread? I'm asking, even if I communicated as civily as eris is now and not going over there purposefully trolling. Who is the local opposition there? In other words who is the eris of that forum that is allowed to speak freely? Or would I be met with a pile on of name calling and demanding that I change my views. Would I get banned just for having a differing view? Within these questions I think you would find the differences between liberals and conservatives.

Nope. You would be banned. A bunch of us proved that a while back. Eris has been welcomed here, sure, the back and forth have occurred, but for the most part, quite civil.
