I'm with the minority on here. I will continue to carry as I have. If I'm the one who gets jammed up so be it. I'm the last person that they want to prosecute. Absolutely no record. A responsible person on a FFL. A full carry permit holder.

But they also do not have a sign stating that conceal carry is allowed on the premises. Thus, it is still illegal now to carry concealed on their property.

The law does not allow for assumptions or inference. It has to be clearly stated or they've made it illegal.

They've made this State the most dangerous to live in thanks to their ridiculously retarded policies. I still have the desire to carry since they've essentially painted a giant target on our backs.

The cop that just happens to see your carry wouldn't know if you had permission outside of the sign at the front door.
At a minimum you would be delayed while he sought out confirmation.
At worst you would be thrown to the ground, handcuffed, disarmed, and possibly shot.

Here's a mental mind F. Imagine carrying in a store that doesn't have a guns welcome sign. No problem you can conceal no one will know.

What if while you are in that store minding your own business an active shooter comes in. Imagine being in the moral dilemma of trying to decide whether saving innocent lives like the woman and 2 kids at the end of the aisle is worth you opening yourself up up to risk of prosecution by engaging the shooter.

Imagine the morality of trying to make a split second decision to either think of what's best for yourself and escape without drawing your pistol or knowing that you are in a position to save lives lives but willingly sacrifice them to the shooter to keep yourself out of jail.

This law is going to put us legal gun owners who have a moral compass in some very compromising positions

Not that scenario but I just had a run in with some youths last week. They stormed into the 7 eleven around midnight, almost breaking the door with how hard they hit it. In came 5-6, and one of them blocked me, stared at me and was flailing his arms around in my face.

It took me a second to get into gear, because of how fast this whole thing happened (I was finishing checking out and about to leave), but I realized this could very well turn into an assault or worse. I stared him down and started to get into a defensive/draw position and then he just turned around and ran down the aisle to steal shit with his friends. I was carrying and obviously “allowed” to at that point.

It’s absolutely deranged that they are disarming us when a non insignificant part of the cities and their inhabitants are full on criminals and lawless right now. I don’t even live in the city, but they are coming out to my town. And that’s not even including the “normal” psychopaths I encounter once in a blue moon.

The cops have always been useless but they are even more so now and will only be there to arrest us for gun violations or (worst scenario) having to use our gun for defense. The criminals will not be touched, the cost is too high.

This is the next step for a total breakdown of our system. A "Mad Max "scenario ... In California they enter a store "Boost " what they can sell for drugs. and walk out knowing they never will even be arrested if under what ? $900/event. Today they can demand everyone's wallet knowing they are in a safe zone .... That's right a safe zone for lawbreakers has been established.
How do we cope. first thing ,, We need to change our habits. Took a self defense course once and was told .. No one needs to buy a gallon of milk at a 7-11 after midnight. Big stores could be safer but not by much. Once a sister worked at Wegmans. . Overnight shift. There is no security employed. .. Only the mall security ....Hate to say it... Yes that is who I’m referring to. After watching a video another member posted on what counts as being effected or impacted by the law enough to have standing this was definitely a cop out provided that video was accurate. Of course the video made sense to me and purely stated you don’t have to be arrested, charged, or state you will be a criminal in order to file suit. This makes sense to me and why would you have to admit on the record you’ll be a criminal if you lose. At minimum this should have had a stay placed on it until the court process had taken place. There are millions of law abiding NYS’ers that will be impacted by this and if allowed to stand California, New Jersey, DC, Massachusetts, and possibly Oregon and Washington state will follow suit. This cancer will spread if not remedied.

It is a legally correct decision. The plaintiffs would have been smacked down almost immediately on Bruen's appeal to the 2nd Circuit due to the 'standing' issues.

That said - the decision basically laid out a roadmap on how to fix and refile the motion for a new preliminary injunction. The merits are valid - but they a.) need to find plaintiffs with proper standing and b.) they need to sue the right person or government entity. NYSP Superintendent Bruen is a political appointee running the State Police. But any police/peace officer in NY can enforce these new laws. Gain legal standing, sue the right people and you have a victory.

The judge wrote a 78 page decision explaining his decision and found these new laws unconstitutional. He could have been like "No standing, fuck you, dismissed with prejudice" one page decision.

I get the sense he wanted to order the injunction but his hands were tied.

I have a feeling by the end of the year that something will happen. Hopefully it will be in the better interest for the 2A community.

FWIW, whether or not you see it like this, but we did get our wishes granted that there would be a SCOTUS decision with NYSRPA vs. Bruen that won in our favor. Heil Hochul's nonsense will go away eventually. We didn't have a SCOTUS decision to back us last year. It just takes time.

Should there have been an injunction on Hochul's nonsense? Absolutely!

However sometimes letting it ride out will make people more upset thus triggering more of a reason to question her nonsensical reasoning.

Perhaps I am wrong . This law or series of laws did not start to harm anyone when this case was heard. A party needs to be wronged inorder to bring this case forward. I am bewildered the lawyers did not recognize this . I listened to Palloma (on WYSL Radio ) a 2nd amendment lawyer representing some of our interests in NY State issues . She said this case moved at tremendous speed through the court system. ... Almost unheard of. She was on the radio after the court date and before the judgment. So she did not comment on the outcome. Bruin did not show and the judge asked the GOA folks if they wanted to issue a subpoena . That was turned down as it would have granted a delay. NY State was looking for a delay from the start....She said when we win this case it would be appealed and would be heard in NY City. She said we NEED to pack that courtroom with gun owners. Everytown for gun safety is behind all of this and they have I thought she said a 100 million Dollar budget to take away our rights. So support GOA. I posted this link of a teacher at a private school sending children to the streets protesting guns for extra credit. I am certain these folks will be present .

I say the lack of standing was foreseeable / avoidable but GOA intentionally picked a weak litigant, a member of the team confirmed same before the dismissal. Following recent SCOTUS this should have been a slam dunk but GOA blew it.
