NYSRPA V Bruen was vacated and remanded back to the 2nd Circuit which will probably do the same to District Court and I don't believe there has been any movement there as of yet.
Then how is it some laws are temporarily/permanently blocked before they even go into effect?A party needs to be wronged inorder to bring this case forward.
The entire State was deemed a "sensitive location", but since Antonyuck didn't SAY it, it gets thrown out? This attorney discussed the lack of standing was due to the litigant failing to concede that he would have to conceal carry in a prohibited sensitive location
I agree. I’m no legal expert but stays happen and it’s meant to stop a law from going into effect. I haven’t read the judges decision, but many feel the lack of standing was wrong by the judge. The video posted earlier referenced two Supreme Court cases that lead me to believe the guy in the video knew what he was talking about on standing. He specifically said the SC rules you don’t need to be arrested or impacted directly by the law to have standing. He said you don’t have to admit you will be a criminal to have standing either. Again I’m no legal expert but makes sense since why should I have to admit next time I’m at xyz the cops can arrest me and charge me as a felon. Then how is it some laws are temporarily/permanently blocked before they even go into effect?
The idea that the People must suffer first before an unConstititional law is struck down is ludicrous!

That's some really twisted logic there.
Sounds more like a judge who's afraid of losing his cushy job.
Most of what you printed here is incorrect. Read the rules in their entirety before you advise others otherwise you’re just spreading misinformation .Under the "new law".. I have not read it complete, just what I have read on forums... From what I gather, you can carry from your home or property where it is still legal,to the car, in the car, and maybe walking down the street in some places, and pretty much everything else is off limits, NO private businesses at all, no parks, no recreation areas such as kids ball games, fishing areas, camp grounds, state land except to hunt?.. Honestly I am not real sure, and any further info would be welcome.. I plan on spending a lot more of my time shopping in Pa. where I can still carry[for now].. anyway, maybe I am not understanding 100%, and a few folks here have a better handle on this disgusting violation of the Second Amendment.......bob
You have two choices: man up , grow a set and ignore the orders from the fascists and carry. For law abiding citizens 99%of the state is now off limits.
Any criminal or nut job that wants to commit a mass shooting, NY gun laws have given them an unprecedented green light. They can bring their guns and body armor from any other state, walk into any public place and likely beat any kill score knowing no citizen will be armed. NY is advertising it nationwide.
I am very worried about places of worship. Especially with the overturning of roe. That’s a fish in a barrel situation waiting to happen for these nuts.
Attention all criminals who live in New York. Governor Hochul and the Democrats in Albany have released a list of places where you can shoot people with no fear of anyone being able to defend themselves or shoot back at you. Democrats want to make sure only criminals can carry weapons in New York and law-abiding citizens of NY need to be aware of this fact. View attachment 171519
To me the choice is clear. Make the effort to stop the threat if it is at all possible and if it means placing my self in Legal jeopardy so be it , I’ll take my chances in court ( what jury would vote to convict you)Yes
Until God forbid you actually have to use it.
Here's a mental mind F. Imagine carrying in a store that doesn't have a guns welcome sign. No problem you can conceal no one will know.
Well......
What if while you are in that store minding your own business an active shooter comes in. Imagine being in the moral dilemma of trying to decide whether saving innocent lives like the woman and 2 kids at the end of the aisle is worth you opening yourself up up to risk of prosecution by engaging the shooter.
Imagine the morality of trying to make a split second decision to either think of what's best for yourself and escape without drawing your pistol or knowing that you are in a position to save lives lives but willingly sacrifice them to the shooter to keep yourself out of jail.
This law is going to put us legal gun owners who have a moral compass in some very compromising positions
Only if you’re a coward.Yes

Amen brotherHeres a moral dilemma for ya, You let that women die when you could have stopped it. Live with that the rest of your life.
For me there is no moral dilemma, I saved my life and the life of a woman. I did the right thing , The world can go fuck itself .Ill live with the consequences, If the state wants to throw me in jail because I saved the life of a woman tell me whos morals are fucked up? Ill take my medicine knowing I did the right thing. Perfectly legal for law enforcement but not people? How do you rectify that? Its wrong or its not .
“Everybody has a plan until they get punched in the mouth.”To me the choice is clear. Make the effort to stop the threat if it is at all possible and if it means placing my self in Legal jeopardy so be it , I’ll take my chances in court ( what jury would vote to convict you)
Just don’t think I could live with myself if I fled the scene and left innocent people to be slaughtered To save my own skin : think Uvalde Tx. I’m not trying to come across as a hero wannabe and getting involved in a shooting is one of the last things l want to do. I just think that’s the moral course of action in that kind of situation.
Looks like that policy change was in 2019 to refrain from open carry, but they do not have any restrictions on permit holders concealing
I’ve been punched in the mouth more times than I can remember and vice versa . I have no plan , just a mind set.“Everybody has a plan until they get punched in the mouth.”
Very good analogy there. I am not a waiter (in both meanings of your post here).I sense that there are two kinds of posters here........................those who wait for the "WALK" SIGN" ,TO TURN ON, and those who don't wait.
Waiters might carry but most will not, and certainly will not shoot before saying "I will shoot if you do not listen to me".
