Where do you carry (on your body), and why?

The majority of the day I ankle carry because of my job. I cant waist carry because I often have to lye down on my side at work.

I carry 4 o'clock on my waiste. I do it because it's the most comfortable. I will probably switch to appendix for speed of draw.

3 to 4 o'clock OWB. I have tried IWB but doesn't work for me since I hate lose pants.

Hip IWB G26 ...why? Well its comfortable and easy to draw.
Do you have good gun belt? I used to have this problem until I got a good gun belt.
As far as carrying, in the winter I carry the G19 at 4:00, not sure what I will do with the G43, either appendix or pocket, not sure.

Lefty here. At work, Walther PPS at 12 or 12:30 in a smart carry which allows me to tuck. Besides that, M&P Compact with appendix carry at 11 or 11:30.

If the holster is canted and worn at 2 o'clock, the barrel points away from you.Never understood appendix carry, tried it and didn't like it, I know to each his own, but you can't bend down and there's just something with it pointing DOWN there

Incorrect. I can bend down and it isn't pointing at my junk. Your body shape/condition, gun size, holster and position will dictate how easily it can be done.Never understood appendix carry, tried it and didn't like it, I know to each his own, but you can't bend down and there's just something with it pointing DOWN there

I can spot 4 o'clockers sometimes and most are unaware they are printing while standing in line at a store.

I like having everything up front where I can see it and have total control over it.
Most are correct that it isn't as comfortable. However, it has gotten to the point that if I do not feel it there, I feel like something's missing. You do get used to it.

Not worried about printing, situational awareness is that if you see it, doesn't matter, I've already seen you. Secondly, I'm confident in my ability to protect it with my hands prior to any potential grab. And most criminals, most, if they notice it are not going to attempt anything, criminals seek easy targets, a known fact.
Up front and side mount are both protectable, and susceptible... It all depends on you! But on the specific location as to appendix or hip, in my opinion, the hip is more easily defendable. Is positioned for easier draw/presentation to target (front) with less movement. And as I mentioned, in my opinion, more comfortable. That doesn't mean it's better, or best.

I carry strong side hip at the moment, and am planning to transition to AIWB in the near future. I will wait to vote until that time.

depending on the time of year and cloths i have on.Summer time its a shield 9mm at 4 oclock and a G26 ankle and winter when i have bulky cloths it a G19 at 4 oclock and G26 on ankle

Working in nyc means im "gunless" 99% of the time im out in public. When i do carry its typically the 43 appendix. In the colder months ill go owb with the 19.

I do not have a good gun belt. On my list to purchase, because I liked carrying at 4:00. How does it help? Less sag so it doesn't point out?
I thought my problem had to do with my waist and still having slight grab handles there, despite my weight loss

I kinda figured that. Mine doesn't really sag, but it might have been the kydex holster that just made it too rigid for my liking in that location. I'll have to try again with the new one.

I've been taking a break from my "real" business and working in a gun store, for the past few months. (Doing it for love, not money, lol) I carry every day for work and always carry outside the waistband, at 4 o'clock!

I carry with shoulder exclusively, with backup in a fanny pack. My wheel guns live in a custom hand-made Bandalero (I am a spaghetti western kinda guy), and I believe my leather/suede semi-auto holster was made by De Santis (but I have had that for 25 years so don't hold me to that). It is soft and supple suede, it does my 1911 perfectly on one side and 2 magazines on the other.

Haha, seriously though... Lefty appendix carry-er here. Right now an M&P Compact in either an Incog, Raven vanguard2 or a 4 Corners Concealment AIWB holster. I had an instructor show me how easy it is to keep me from acquiring anything from rearward of the hip area while fighting. Lesson was, all primary defense tools ride forward of the hip line. I don't have any issues with bending down, and honestly to the people who ask about it pointing "down there," if you don't trust your equipment then what are you doing carrying it in the first place?
