Ahh, evil assault weapon! :OI have a few 10/22s and they're great but certainly wouldn't rate them as "the best". Look at Volquartsen VF-ORYX as an example of something better. Of course, it carry's a price tag to match lol...

maybe more of a time displacement. For quick 22lr tube reloading, these work pretty well.

Have two of them. One loaded with 22lr and the other 22 mag and top them off as part of my cleaning regimen.maybe more of a time displacement.
I too prefer the 60. I think it feels like it’s half the weight and balanced much better.10/22 or Marlin 60, I have both in stainless.
My 60 is far more accurate and I feel a better quality, although I cannot speak for quality of recent. The 10/22 is the AR of 22's, you can build one from parts and customize to your hearts content. Most of it boils down to what you want out of it and if you want/need a detachable magazine or can you deal with a tube. Legally speaking, in NY the 60 is GTG with a full tube (17 or so if memory serves) vs 10 round for the Ruger.
Both are good rifles, but my "house gun" next to the front door for various pests is my 60, the Ruger collects dust.
Man that’s one tidy little fit there. It’s almost perfect.
Even in S. Dakota? It can be built to be NY compliant if wanted but point was there are better guns out there than a 10/22...Ahh, evil assault weapon! :O
Remington 597.
That is one sharp looking rifle. I'm used to seeing stainless and laminate not blued and laminate. Curious what the msrp on it is and what reviews there are.Got curious with this thread and did a search for .22 semi-auto rimfires that come dressed in wood and blue steel.
Winchester, Remington, Marlin, Mossberg all a no go at this time with zero offerings. Browning has some but they are definitely of an odd styling, CZ also has one to offer, and Savage with nearly a hundred offerings in .22 models makes a few in semi with choice of classic walnut or laminate stocks. I'm sure I missed a few but pickings are slim unless you go plastic these days.
This Savage caught my attention though.

I think it was above $500 and you they offer it thumbhole, 22 mag, and .17 ,, Savage does not lack in choice but I'm sure you'll be waiting on orders. That is one sharp looking rifle. I wonder if that price is a reflection of the times or if it has always been that high? Reminton did offer the 597 in a laminate stock at one point. I know you can get a Boyd's for it.I think it was above $500 and you they offer it thumbhole, 22 mag, and .17 ,, Savage does not lack in choice but I'm sure you'll be waiting on orders.
