If Trump picks a female, will the Dems make a bunch of fake rape accusations against her?
Barring something substantial and negative coming out most Republicans seem to vote to nominate even if the nomination is not compatible politically. He most likely would have been approved. Not saying I like it but that seems to be the historical reality.Oh, certainly the makeup of the Senate is absolutely different here.
And I'm not suggesting they should have confirmed Garland.
I'm just saying they should have given him a hard "NO" instead of hiding behind procedural BS.
However, if McConnell thought that there might actually be enough RINO's to confirm Garland, then he made the right move.
No thanks.
There are some things that should get you kicked out of the party.Might not happen after all. Typical R’s with no spine.
BREAKING: Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska) becomes second GOP Senator to say she opposes voting on Supreme Court vacancy before the election
Need to send it to a vote and put them on record. We’ll see who actually votes no.There are some things that should get you kicked out of the party.
Joe looks so angry. Lost. Confused.
Every or almost every president including Obama has made a nomination when a seat opens up regardless of timing. In fact Obama did this exact same thing. Difference is this time the voters decided to maintain the R senate therefore they have already spoken on this matter and decided by vote to allow this to go through. The opposite was true regarding the senate during Obama’s last year.By the way...
Trump, if he does this Nomination thing; he will not be the first to do it like this. There is past history of this.
If I recall correctly, and I believe I do as I have not yet hit the crack pipe tonight, but it was so bad and inappropriate that even Dems spoke out against it and defended her.Judge Amy Barrett already was vetted during 2017 confirmation process for appellate court judgeship. Democratic Sens. Feinstein and Durbin zeroed in on her religious "dogma," but their questions smacked of "anti-Catholic bigotry"
'Dogma lives loudly in you' - What happened at Amy Coney Barrett's 2017 confirmation hearing
During Amy Coney Barrett's 2017 judicial confirmation hearing, the judge faced hostile questions about her Catholic faith, prompting outrage and frustration among some Catholic leaders.t.co
Maybe if Trump's pick was Mormon. Otherwise, Romney hates Trump and likely will not vote his pick.So two senators have said they won't support.
What about romney? If nothing else he is quite evangelical and though I don't think he's catholic if this amy person is known for being so perhaps he'll support. Regardless, three can defect and it will still get pushed through with a pence tie break.
I also hope these senators realize as I have (and I'm sure they do), trump is facing long odds in november. This could be his last chance to get a fresh faced republican in the court. It must be taken. It is so obviously necessary, and ignore all threats from the democrats.
RBG's time? The democrats of a damn decade ago were head and shoulders better than those today. The party has gone straight to shit at warp speed. They are bonkers. The party and its presidents used to be far less insane. You can see speeches even from obama's time that are quite reasonable.I miss her already. I actually was not aware of this. Good for her.
We will learn more and more that the leftists of today are far far worse than those of RBGs time. At least she loved her country.
