Just wondering about some of the possible candidates for SCOTUS.
I know some will say that it’s all a big political game and even Kavannaugh didn’t do what we hoped, but I think it’s the best chance we have at preserving the 2A.

My prediction, Democrats will not allow Trump to name a replacement in an election year. If Ruth lives past election, as soon as she begins assuming room temperature, Democrats will begin impeachment over Trump's Corona virus response (or whatever else they queue up) and then argue that a President under impeachment cannot name a SC Justice.

Well, the GOP was within their power since they controlled the Senate, and they haven't to my knowledge ever claimed that the democrats had an obligation to vote in any particular time frame, so I don't see it as hypocrisy.

They should have taken the vote and just voted no, but it's not hypocrisy to exercise your authority.

Thankfully the Dems don't have the power to do that now, since they don't control the Senate. But if they did control the Senate, and they didn't at least vote on Trump's nominee after carrying on forever about Garland, *that* would be hypocrisy.

She will die on the bench so unless she dies very soon I doubt it will happen before the election.
I’m glad the republicans did what they did but it may bite them in the ass. They can’t exactly power on and push a judge through if she retires or passes.

democrats have proven that tradition means nothing, only power and control. I hope Trump appoints a nominee before she's even in the ground and let the left howl.

Problem is like Ted Cruz said that when this election goes to the scotus it will be a split vote of 4 to 4 which would lead to a major problem. Also its really up too Mitch in the Senate and he's already said he's ready for a vote and has been.
