Why does no one actually read the Second Amendment ?

So can we report even ONE "well regulated Militia" in this Country ?

Historically, did we ever have one ?

Does the reasoning that "Militia" = "Army" hold water ?

Personally, I am thinking the National Guard was originally created to be controlled by each State Governor, and was to be largrely independent of the Federal Goverment.

But the 2A is so unclear.

What do you think it means ?

The Militia back then was "anyone" but mostly able-body males 18 and above! And it's obvious to ME that The Right of the PEOPLE to keep and bear arms shall NOT be infringed. Very basic & very clear in my eyes. There's NO reading between the lines on this.

There is the organized, and unorganized militias. Organized is part time soldiers who get paid, the unorganized is the common man.

The New York Guard (not national guard) is NY's state militia. They are volunteers and commanded by only the governor. Not sure if they ever get paid when they are activated but they are not paid to train and drill.

DeSantis got ripped for reactivating the state guard in Florida last December but few "journalists" including New York based ones bothered to note that New York already has the New York Guard, California has the California State Guard, etc.

Nothing unclear about it... And SCOTUS answered the question as well.

The PEOPLE are the MILITIA...

No need for formalities, or an assembly recognized by the Federal Gov't, or their approval either.

The PEOPLE ... "WE" are the people, "WE" are the MILITIA. In the street walking to our car, playing in the park, etc. Done!

Well regulated means trained. When called to defend your town, state or country you were required to show up with your own gun, powder, bullets and know how to use it.

Well regulated means trained. When called to defend your town, state or country you were required to show up with your own gun, powder, bullets and know how to use it.

That is why I've invested the time to learn how to make my own powder (22lr for now), learn to reload and most importantly know how to safely operate a variety of guns in case that time ever arises.

Next steps are casting my own bullets, figure out how to make my own primers, and eventually make my own guns (not for resale) for personal use. It's all doable, just time...

I really love shooting the ammo I manufacture. Something about it is very enjoyable.

Even in 2022, folks think the government can protect them from invading forces. Wrong. Dead wrong. Nothing has changed, other than people's mindsets and views because of laziness and what they see/interpret on the media.

Militias were and are comprised of “the people”. Therefore the people need to have weapons of war in their possesion in order to be able to create “a well regulated militia.

Major problem today, people read in today's English and context. 1700 English is almost a foreign language. If people took the time to actually uderstand what was said maybe they'd get it.

The key word here - is the word "SHALL" -- in legal terms, 'shall' denotes something that is mandatory, carved in stone, forever. 'SHALL NOT be infringed' - live by it.
