Why Hollow Points Suck

@Podmonkey . Your boy made a few videos on the solid copper bullets. The first one is .380 and 9mm on a meat target. The second one was a .40 through a car door into a meat target. Even he had to admit their good performance through barriers even though i believe he tried to skew the results by using .40 since a 9mm hollow point wouldn't have done as much damage after the car door.

But in the end no matter what bullet you use, shot placement and penetration to vitals are what immediately kills. You can shoot a deer with a fancy hollow point in the stomach and it'll run away from you further compared to a solid bullet through the heart. The same applies to a human.

How many times have humans been shot by fragmenting .223 rounds in non vital areas in these wars we've been in and lived or continued fighting until dying later?

Okay, yeah the bullet needs to strike in an effective area, I've said that much already. The various types of bullets out there simply are to capitalize onnthe available kinetic energy as much as possible when it gets there, thats all. Hits count, misses don't and of course a 9mm FMJ that drills through your heart will leave you in worse shape than a 23mm autocannon round that blows your leg off at the knee.

I think you have an irrational dislike of that guy.
He is buying his own ammo, sourced from local stores. He can't always provided direct comparisons with all the same bulletntypes and brands across calibers. No single data source is definitive, just consider it and additional datum among many to consider.

I still watch his videos even though I believe he has a bias. In fact, I've learned something from him.

That 115 gr Xtreme Penetrator that I CCW that has an enormous amount of penetration in gel doesn't have as much in his meat and oranges targets to be considered good for a woods load like I thought compared to a 147 Hard Cast.

It seems to be a great barrier blind load though that'll still penetrate more than most hollow points after going through barriers while still giving some tissue disruption though.
