I just wanted to give a big shout out to the NYSRPA! Thank You for fighting to restore and keep our second amendment rights, even if it means everyone ends up losing them in the process as a result.

More importantly, WHY would anyone downstate even consider getting a permit? If specifically speak of NYC and its surrounding counties, the entirety of a permits usefulness is null and void as the entire area is a sensitive place. This is the goal, and alwa has been. To make it as difficult or useless as possible to obtain one, therefore noone will have one.I heard Hochul say many times that it’s her and other politicians responsibility to keep us safe so if they fail that’s her take accepting negligence for failing to do so and we should should be able to sue them for monetary gain. This is the problem is politicians have zero liability in what they do, say, or pass. If they had the same liability as we do and companies do maybe they would think differently. Maybe not.
This really aggravates me and I feel the
same as Doc Evil that I have less rights now so a few assholes in NYC can get a carry permit. Yes I feel bad they we’re screwed in the past but I’m sure not much will change with the moral character clause. Yes maybe a few more will get full carry permits, but think of how difficult it will be for them to get the training required to get this? Also the cost will be prohibitive to most in NYC.
CDL w/ Hazmat endorsement? What state do you want to work in?Yo seriously, anyone know a good places to look for jobs in other states that don't require the vaccine?
Asking for a friend.
When it happens it will be with a rifle and then they will shut those down just like they did right now with handguns. Not that I want a shooting of any type, it will be interesting to see what spin they can craft if it did happen in a "sensitive place" where patrons were willing but unable to carry.
“Downstate” Did you mean anywhere in the state because 99% of the state is now off limits.More importantly, WHY would anyone downstate even consider getting a permit? Can anyone buy a semi auto rifle today? Wasn’t there new requirements they don’t have yet or was that delayed? When it happens it will be with a rifle and then they will shut those down just like they did right now with handguns.
They have probably ordered media to not post news about gang handgun shootings after today
9/4 now. You can still buy one today. Can anyone buy a semi auto rifle today? Wasn’t there new requirements they don’t have yet or was that delayed?
They made that illegal a few years ago.We should all just start carrying around big fucking machetes now.
I was going to say that I would expect to see an uptick in knife training classes, @OnSight Firearms Training .We should all just start carrying around big fucking machetes now.
This. I would expect any AR pattern rifle to be illegal by years end. I know, I know, I know what the Heller decision said but Bruen also said sensitive places could be what it is today so why would we expect anything different to occur when they make AR/AK pattern rifles illegal. Most will move and sell them out of state or to the state and take a huge loss then never get back into them after years and years of court battles.I’d bet on more laws and restrictions from ny before the year is up. They won big and will ride this momentum. Sell or move your guns out of state while you can.
the leftists will say "no one is forcing you to do business there, if you don't feel safe then do business someplace else".Here's a scenario for a plaintiff: Woman who is a sole proprietor of a business who has had a business carry permit. Her business is either in a "gun free zone," like Times Square, or she runs a business that is now in a no-carry category. She relied on her concealed pistol for personal protection during business hours since her business has only one entrance/exit and she could find herself made captive in her business by someone stronger than herself.
Unfortunately I would have to say that normally your plaintiff (dozens of them) would have to be robbed, raped or murdered for any change to come to this law to protect her. Here's a scenario for a plaintiff: Woman who is a sole proprietor of a business who has had a business carry permit. Due to the medias current makeup, you would be assured this story would never be broadcast. Buried on page 9.Not that I want a shooting of any type, it will be interesting to see what spin they can craft if it did happen in a "sensitive place" where patrons were willing but unable to carry.
Yeah, concealed is concealed and you can go about carrying anywhere you wish. But whats the point, if you have to use it you will be prosecuted as a felon.I've been in several different businesses so far today.
I haven't seen anyone stop at the doors, notice a lack of signage, pat their beltline and walk away.
Just sayin'.
The comment was in reference to an earlier post regarding 1 persons wish to obtain a permit, hence the lawsuit. If there were any hope of obtaining one with the Bruen decision downstate then, it is certainly squashed with the restrictions put in place now.“Downstate” Did you mean anywhere in the state because 99% of the state is now off limits.
Hell, felons do it daily anyway.Yeah, concealed is concealed and you can go about carrying anywhere you wish. But whats the point, if you have to use it you will be prosecuted as a felon.

Chances of seeing any signage are going to be slim, if not at all. In this lib run state, do you really expect to see gun welcome signs? No business owner is going to post one in fear of pissing off the anti gun crowd.I've been in several different businesses so far today.

Not fear mongering, just an observation based on whats been going on for the last couple of years and what is coming. You know there is no case law to back anything up yet. Brandon has said that we ( the 75 million Trump voters ) are a threat to democracy. He's going on tv tonight to declare just that. So, you carry your gun into a store, have to use it.Do you think you have a shot? Oh, and he was a republican, string him up! We are fucked, not just NY but this whole country.Do you have any case law to back that up.. or are you feeding into NYs fear mongering to help prevent others from exercising their natural rights of self defense

I'd say it probably has more to do with liability insurance. My guess is rates will rise for any business that does that if their policy isn't cancelled outright.Chances of seeing any signage are going to be slim, if not at all. It's only been 11 hours. I'm sure someone will be made an example of.Do you have any case law to back that up.. or are you feeding into NYs fear mongering to help prevent others from exercising their natural rights of self defense
Insurance payments increased to exercise constitutional amendments?I'd say it probably has more to do with liability insurance. My guess is rates will rise for any business that does that if their policy isn't cancelled outright.

I'm sure lots of us thought for a few moments this morning about the risk of continuing to carry vs. the risk of not carrying.
