Will This All Backfire?

I am a firm believer that things happen for a reason even if I don't understand at the time. The anti's are making such a big push and overreach in what they are proposing that it makes me wonder if they are shooting themselves in the foot (pun intended). Do you think this will make those across the country, the folks that put Trump in office join together and give the Dems a big FU at midterms and in the future? I have to believe that in their rush to take advantage of the tragedy they may actually be screwing themselves in the long run. Any thoughts?

It might, that story of all the new membership the NRA is supposedly getting may point to things going in that direction. Possibly. On the other hand Republican support of anti gun bills across the country has me very concerned.

Honestly it's incredibly confusing.

On the one hand the deplorables that put OUR president in office tend to be uber quiet about their intentions and thoughts on the polarizing topics. Case in point, virtually every news reporting agency and national poll gave OUR president maybe a .05% chance to win the WH. I truly believe even Trump himself was flabbergasted and possibly mortified that he won. If the polls properly polled the voting populace I still don't know if they would have come up with an accurate prediction. Our contingent seems to hold fast to the old adage loose lips sink ships.

On the other hand, the current polarized environment appears to be overwhelmingly in favor of a single term, if he makes it that far, presidency. Even the elected senators and congressmen in the GOP are sporadically taking leave of their positions either midterm or announcing no intention of running again at terms end. This will leave a vacancy that's harder to win again as opposed rewin as an incumbent.

This next midterm is going to be unbelievably tough to call. The dems/libs/progs are pulling out all stops and dumping unheard of funds into their slanderous and misleading campaigns to mount an attack unlike any we've ever seen in politics in this nation.

If we lose any majority (House or Senate) i pity our future rights and freedom. They're going to go on a full tilt offensive as retribution for denying their golden girl her shot at destroying the U.S.

All the signs appear to show the Dems are going hard left in the upcoming elections. Look at California - the long term senator Diane Feinstein did not receive the nomination from the democratic party. Apparently her progressive credentials aren't good enough. You can't say you dislike trump - the successful candidate must pledge to impeach (if not behead) trump.

I am hoping this causes the same type of surprise election results in the midterms that we had in 2016. Historically the party in power loses seats in the midterm, so the natural trend is working against us. I just hope the democrats nominate every crazy ass progressive they can and they all go down in defeat.

Yea right ....sorry for the too shay. I know a professor that quit his occupation because he did not agree with the education system.
Last year we had a political conversation and I stated to him the reps and the dems were a 2 party dictatorship. He said no .....one party. @Podmonkey 's post about worrying about republicans brought this to mind.

My take is this. They are done! The Dems have overreached on too many issues. Just take your pick. I find it hard to believe that the MAJORITY of people are in favor of ripping down statues, Sanctuary cities, Antifa riots, White privilege shame, blaming the gun and the NRA, Open Borders. This short list is tied to the Dems. People are seeing right through how the Media is soooo loop sided in the Dems favor it is laughable! I also have a diverse worforce and their take seems to be the same. Midterms will for sure show the pulse of the Country. Get you Asses out and Vote in Nov!!

I think the red states will dig in and the blue will fight hard.
The states that took a chance on Trump, you know, the blue wall that crumbled.....Minnesota, Wisconsin....., will see that their vote for Trump worked out so they will vote Republican.
I believe the "on the edge" states in the 2016 election, Penn, Ohio, NH.....will also see their votes for Trump were correct and vote Republican.
I believe the Democrats are in big trouble in November.

I am hoping that the Dems keep on screaming for gun control in an extreme way, like the bill just introduced to ban all semis. The more extreme they become, the more likely it is they lose big in November.
