Ummm...no. They pulled a fast one on ya. The committee's "recommendation" automatically becomes law. Of course, the committee was CREATED by the legislature in this year's budget! Their meeting while the legislature is out of session was no accident. It was all about getting to the big raise without actually having to go on record and vote for it. You will see many of these politicians claiming they would have voted against a raise, and exactly 0 of them will refuse it.
