Wolf Steel Case. Okay For Bolt Rifles?

Never used steel case in my .308 GunSite Scout. Opinions please as to doing so. .308 people check TS!

I found that out using steel case .40 cal in my Charter Arms Pitbull. Fired my first load and ended up with a cylinder full of expanded cases. Had to take gun home and use a dowel to tap them out.

Speaking of accuracy. Anyone ever reload steel case? Just for fun I once took 5 steel case rounds and demilled them taking the average charge weight between the 5. Then demilled a 6th and made sure the 5 rounds had the same charge. It makes a difference.

Sometimes you will get a lot of Wolf that shoots very well. And then the next lot you can't hit the side of a barn from within. That's the problem with Russian commercial ammo, no consistency.

For a $1,000 rifle, I'm not sure it's worth it. Places around here still had federal 7.62x51 $14 for 20. Is wolf really that much less?

Now if you're running it through a $200 compass, why not.

I didn’t spend $1k for my GunSite. Also some ammo for it is better than none. Have a lot of Lake City and PMC to go bang with before I would get to this.

I think the Ruger will accept them also.

You're probably pretty safe with that claw style extractor anwyay.

It might just be a my brain kind of thing. My .308s are either expensive match style rifles or walnut clad hunting rigs.

You will not be impressed....you gotta get reloading and soon. I’ve got some steel rounds that I will give to anyone local...give me some brass and we’ll call it even...the powder smells like a dead rat and the necks are blackened...not sealing way under charged...save it for your whammo slingshot
