Except this stage still puts you firmly within their control. They can still delay/deny you and then you have a gun sitting at the FFL rather than in your possession.Buy it outside NY and ship to your FFL...

There will be one or two left per county but this is what they want. They don’t want so and so to walk or drive by a gun shop and think well maybe I want a gun. Then they make it so hard to get a gun and ammo people will say forget it. It’s all about deterrence.I get it, I get it. But, I really feel for the FFL's and gun shops around the area. 4 within a 25 mile radius of where I live closed their doors this past year. I know some of these folks and for the most part they are really good hard working people. How long before there are none left in NYS?
Voting for change to oust the fuckers that make these laws is laughable. NY City makes my decisions for me and pretty much everyone else outside the metro.
State and government employees aren’t the problem it’s the politicians and staffer/lawyers. I know many state workers and they hate the crap that’s going on but if you’re halfway or closer to retirement it makes no sense to leave. Remember the government in NYS is the largest employer so it wouldn’t work well for the FFLs either.its been 1 year, 1 month, 22 days since I bought Ammo in NYS ..
If i remember correctly don't they ask for your employer and social media on the form LOL use it against them
F this state end every FFL that didn't put up a sign ..

I do not believe so but there’s a lot of challenges so I could be wrong.Anyone know if there is a current court case challenging this infringement?

You know what you’re right at least to some degree. I work for the government and I was just having a conversation with my supervisor and he told me he knew this wasn’t in the regulation but I should ask for it because it can help prove what the firms we regulate are doing. I refuse and if it’s not in black and white under the regulation then I can’t ask for it and I don’t. I have people try to hand me stuff or tell me things I have no legal authority to enforce and I just tell them that’s not why I’m hear and if you have questions ask them. I tell them I will show them the regulation and if it’s not in there I can’t enforce it and I won’t. I also warn them about hey you might want to look into correcting this because these agencies might care about it. Of course I don’t call those agencies to report these forms either. I would if it was a terrible condition or extremely hazardous but I never have had to do it and hope to never have to either.sure they are .. they are the ones that enforce and support the fuckin laws

One of my co-workers just talked to me about visiting a firm and told me I shouldn’t do it now and should go back when they are doing more to possibly catch them doing something wrong. Nope the regulation says I can visit/audit them now so I will. That same coworker goes beyond where our regulation stops because you know it’s for the public good. Nope others regulate that side of it and if I can’t legally regulate it what happens if I find a problem? Some firms there’s no others that regulate it so I just walk away knowing there’s a problem or try to force them into what I think is right? Some new rules are coming and I’m honestly not sure I can enforce them so I may switch departments or job roles because it’s too far.
I mean part of it is I can’t get too specific or it will detail who I am to the wrong people. I have to keep it general. Basically people tell me to ask for things I’m not allowed to ask for and coworkers go beyond what they are allowed to do. Add in that a coworker recommended I postpone a visit to a firm to make things more complicated for them at a less convenient time of year for the firm. I don’t overstep my boundaries but others do.Holy crap! I'm sure, in your mind, you know exactly what you're talking about. However, when you put that shit into a word salad like that it's a whole lot of letters and words and punctuation that doesn't say much.
I am just a bit dumber after reading that.
It’s in part because of treaties with those “nations”. Very complicated at times. New SCOTUS decision made it even more complicatedFor crimes committed on the reservations. They can go serve warrants on the reservation or at least they could. They don’t like to. When my dad was sheriff they did this and they hated it because it usually didn’t go well.
