Four robbers rob a bus load of people.

They gathered up mobile phones and wallets, but as they prepared to leave near the town of Toluca, one passenger stood up, drew a pistol and shot the four assailants, killing their leader instantly.

The three injured robbers stumbled off the bus, but the gunman followed them out and shot them dead at the roadside. Then he returned to the bus, handed back the passengers’ belongings and disappeared into the darkness.

Which brings up a question. A.) Did he do anything wrong? If he did nothing wrong why should he stand around waiting for the Police? Just sayin.

NO! He did nothing wrong. He did great. Hell, his actions were awesome. This is what we need to get out of our head, this idea that if you use you firearm, you need to be ever so careful of how you use it. All of us in America have the Right to protect ourselves and our property. Of what I understand, one of the crims had the bag of goodies with him when he left the bus, the good guy just went out to retrieve his property. How was he to know if when he exited the bus they would not try to shoot him or reenter the bus? Life is about the story you tell, learn to tell the correct story and the possibility of landing in jail decreases.

Some jurisdictions allow deadly force to apprehend someone fleeing certain felonies.

I wouldn't recommend it, but there places where it is legal.

OFC, this is Mexico, your not allowed to shoot someone to save your own life there, so you can die, or kill and run. I'd run....

no...but I visited a holiday Inn once....do something simple to test my opinion.....have someone punch you...have them run away...you catch them and beat the shit out of that same person.......ask a real attorney...oh...are you an attorney?? Closest I come to being an attorney is a degree in criminal justice...but that doesn't matter

Not picking on your ideas....

We hear people talk about scenarios all the time about what may or may not get one jammed up. There are very few actual court cases and convictions to back this up.

Seems like just a bunch of talk!

I think he should've left them alive, but incapacitated. Then (if there were a truly just criminal justice system) each of the thieves would've had their hands cut off and been impaled on spikes from anus to mouth. Shit, the Zetas pretty much do that. Why not make that punishment for violent criminals?

My understanding of article 35 both in reading and taking training classes is the same (at least in ny). However, i agree with the part about how the story is told, but i cant imagine a ny court siding with the hero in this story.

I am not saying that a court would side that way either, My point is that we, gun owners, do ourselves a disservice by acting like bad shit happens to us all of the time because we carry a gun.

I think it's funny that we're dissecting this for legal grounds and precedent. This is MEXICO we're talking about. One of the most LAWLESS countries in our little corner of the planet- drug cartels run that place. The "gov't" is probably mad that they lost 4 henchmen.

In NY what they did was a felony, deadly force is permitted to prevent a felon from fleeing, sounds too me they where still in the immediate area ... This should fly here but we all know it wouldn't.

Even if what was done was legal, you'd have to stick around, obviously get a lawyer, and give a statement.

Are you 100% about that? Its my understanding that dpf is only allowed to be used to prevent death,serious bodily injury,rape or arson. I was not aware that you can use dpf to prevent a person fleeing the scene of any felony.
