Are you 100% about that? Its my understanding that dpf is only allowed to be used to prevent death,serious bodily injury,rape or arson. I was not aware that you can use dpf to prevent a person fleeing the scene of any felony.

What's technically legal, and what's practically legal are sometimes 2 very different things.

I know I certainly wouldn't what to try it.

It was in neither it was in 35, just popped in my head ... scroll to the bottom of the page start reading at .4 ... has the law changed possibly, will someone try to fry you if it hasn't, most likely. Is their allot of room for Interpritation ... you bet, welcome to NY.

Now you would have to look up the definitions of the offenses listed. Robbery for example.

An officer pointed this out to me. It's the reason why it's nearly impossible to get a cop on a murder conviction when they shoot a fleeing suspect that just perpetrated a serious offense. Not that any of use would fault an officer when the crime is extremely violent in nature. But the tossing of a gun and no longer being a immediate threat in certain situations does not mean the use of deadly force is automatically taken off the table.

Makes sense, should a criminal especially a violent one be allowed to get away only to repeate.

Citizens have not lost the right to protect themselves or the public no matter what the authorities would like you to think, but if the police do show up, you should stand down, I know I would, I don't have the lawyers the Police and there departments have at there disposal.
