Yet another Stock Modification

I don't like plastic stocks so i did the following...

extended the stock 1"
Kydex check riser
free floated the barrel
friction tape on the butt end

Friction tape .. Ewwwwww .. as a electrician back in the day i hated that stuff .. sticky but never stuck to crap LOL .. always had to cover it with good old black tape lol ..

I inlet the band too, it doesn't touch the barrel. I shoot a lot with a sling (Appleseed), and I like the placement of the swizzle on the band

Maybe that's not what it's called. it's that 1 inch tape that you put on the edge of the stairs so people don't slip

Let me see if I have this right. The 10-22 has only 2 holding points. One a screw in the receiver and the other is the barrel band. With the barrel band not touching the barrel you now have just one screw holding the gun and the barrel is definitely a floater..... I assume your accuracy is now greatly improved over a two point hold. Perhaps you better patient that and sell it to Ruger......

if you have ever looked at the inside of a 10/22 stock the screw goes into the receiver is on a big flat area connecting to another flat area. i may put a pillar or glass the bed, if it needs it. i dont think it will, it is rock solid.
If you shoot long range you really see putting pressure on a barrel is never a good idea.

I tested it out last night and it is at least not shooting any worse than before...

I have not tested it out using the barrel band sling mount.
it clamps down hard onto the wood, so i think it will do fine.

gunsmith. I can shoot my 22 pistol and get better groups than that at 50 feet and so do most of my friends. The only improvements I do on a 10-22

Actually the Winchester ammo does quite well and will hold around 1.5 inches at 100 with little or no wind. On a windy day it might well be 4 inches or more. 22LR drift quite alot in the wind. When you learn how to spell PRECISION let me know. As far as my skills go you will never know as I throw people with your attitude off my range, never to return again.

You essentially got three points of support for the barreled action, back end of the receiver, somewhere along underneath the barrel, and at the single action screw holding the whole mess down in the middle. If you remove the support from underneath the barrel something must hang on to the backside of the receiver or you end up with the barreled action teetering over the single TD screw.

you should stick with being grammar police, because you should know at 100yds your bullet will go transonic and ruin accuracy. stick with ammo around 1080 or so.

You are talking about points in space but the takedown screw is inset in a block (or plain). the receiver of my gun does not touch the stock in the back where you think it does.

You think you talk a good game but you have never seen OR INSPECTED my rifle in person, but you know better than me!
