I'd like to think I'm normally a person who keeps up and track of what ammunition I have for what and what I need. NEVER did I think I would be out of this critical Ammunition.

So go hunting trip with BIL and that this weekend...getting all must stuff ready..I do to get 12guage slugs...I got TWO...I scour through ammo safe for more slugs as I have to have them..I remember stocking up back when 5 bucks a box.....NOPE nothing...Im like what!! plenty of pistol and other shot but NO SLUGS>......my god how can I be so Irrisponsible!! so worry about pistol still never thought that Ive slowly eating away at my hunting ammo of 12 G sligs.....so off to get some today......and I see at like 18 bucks a box too.......man miss the good old days..

I may just take some 00 buck shot..and took rifle for day 2.

for many years Ive carried around the same group of slugs...load them in field...empty when get back to truck.....you know those DRY years....and now.....IM OUT?! How did that happen........ But now I know.....too busy with pistol and rifle I lost sight of my Shotty!!!

Had the same issue a few years back with 22 ammo. The kids and I go through thousands of rounds a year. Going out one day I realized I had a brick of 525 rds left. I have thousands of rds stored for diff calibers and can reload much more, yet was critically low on 22. Fixed that mistake quick and wont let it happen again!

I keep an inventory list in my phone. If I take a box of 50 9mm out of the safe I deduct 50 off my list. If I don’t shoot all 50 leave the list as is and remainder of rounds in my shooting bag

I don't have an inventory but I do have them stacked up on shelves and separated by caliber.
I bought a bunch of Fed. 12ga slugs years ago after season, price IIRC $1.99 a box or could've been .99a box. haven't shot one in 10 or 15 years, but somehow I've still gone thru many boxes, kids when will the ever grow up?

I keep most of mine in ammo cans with desiccant.

Once I open a can I just figure it's "spent" and use that until it's empty without paying much attention to the loose boxes.

So, basically I try to keep track of full unopened cans, but not every box.

Some odd calibers that aren't worth keeping case quantities around (like .410 or 7.7 arisaka) just kinda float as a couple boxes here and there.

All I try to do is replace what I shoot. For instance I keep a 1,200 case of M193 for training, if I schedule a class I go ahead and order another case ahead of time. Shoot a case, buy a case, that's all I do.

I don't get them. Maybe enable popup blocker? I don't use Microsoft or Apple web browsers. I use mozilla default settings web browser with no issues. It could also be cookies already on your PC bringing those ads up. Clean your cache out.

I haven’t shot shotgun outside of three gun and cowboy action. To me, shotguns are an inside the house guns and competition guns. I make no claims to be able to hit anything but targets with them. A Hunter I am not. I have about 250 shells for my coach gun which will get me through about 8 months of matches.

At least it's nice to see 9mm available now, shipped, for upper 20s cpr. I don't think we'll see it much closer to 20 cents. Maybe it'll settle in at 22-25. About 50% higher than pre scamdemic. About in line with everything else

one of the huge draw backs to living in an RV, is weight, And ammo weighs a LOT. I have plenty of ammo to get me by, But as a frumpy Gunnery Sarge once said "when the fighting starts, there will plenty of ammo laying on the ground" <at least the gist of the conversation>

Between the 30-30, 45-70 and a couple of other toys, I can hold my own for at least 15 minutes, maybe even 20 if its not sustained fight, LOL

Just Thought Id share my shock?!

Until recently, my standard practice was to order ammo after going out shooting.
Generally I would get double the amount I used. That way I was slowly but surely building a nice cache.

Now I can’t afford to shoot anything beyond 9mm or 5.56. I have a decent supply of everything else, but I just can’t bring myself to spend $2+ a round for 30-30, $1.50 a round for M2 ball or a $1 a round for 30 carbine to replace what I use.
