I have "several" heavy duty plastic bags in my fanny pack, hiking day pack, range bag, car bag, long distance hiking pack.........

Pack cover, pack liner, rain collector, ground cloth, emergency tent, poncho, wind cover, lean-to, keep your ass dry sitting cover..........

Three to five bags weigh almost nothing.

I saw a guy on another forum say when he hunts in the Adirondacks by himself he brings a big square of tyvek house wrap. It can't be made into a poncho like a bag can but it's damn tough material, very light, and great for stuff like a shelter. Bag idea is good. I buy contractor grade trash bags for cleanup around the house--the thickets ones I can find at lowes, they'd be good for this.

My daughter when she was like 7 put a bag on and punched her legs threw it in rain storm and would run and slide into the pond LOL
