What do you say? Do you think the added weight of having a light on your pistol improves accuracy by reducing muzzle flip or anything like that? Do you think it is even noticeable? I don't think there is much of a difference personally but I don't shoot with a light attached at the range usually.

I can't say I've noticed a difference in recoil, though I only have lights on my M&P 2.0 Compact (a TLR7) and Fullsize (TLR1-HL). Until they come out with the TLR7-sub that will supposedly fit on the 365 models..
TLR7 is great - plenty bright enough for the engagement ranges I'd need it for.

Yep, leaked on Reddit a few months ago - supposedly same 500 lumen rating as a regular TLR7. Not sure if they're doing final testing or having issues. Maybe waiting for virtual SHOT Show?

There is no substitute for practice, no matter what you hang off your pistol, practice is the only thing that will make you a better shot with the gun you chose. Of all the shooting assets, being a good shot with a pistol is the what is called a perishable skill and needs constant refreshing.

Physics does not lie. Weight on the end of the pistol reduces muzzle flip. With my TLR-HL on my G20C, the comp combined with the weight of the light reduces flip.
In addition I feel that for point shooting the bright hot spot of the light makes things quicker.

But the muzzle doesn't "flip" until after the round leaves the muzzle, so unless you have a bullet that's dragging it's ass out the barrel the "flip" will only effect the second round and then only if you don't bring the sights to bear on target. Rapid fire is fun but 10 quick shots will never beat 1 or 2 well aimed rounds.
I'm not sure if you are aware, but the recoil is reduced specifically for follow up shots. Much the same way triggers have "nice resets."
Not sure of too many people looking at a dazzling light, then focusing on the sights and then shooting.

Making it “easier” or more “accurate” is relative. As long as you are doing your job it can be beneficial. There’s a reason why some competition shooters add weights to the front end of their gun (sometimes they add it in the grip plug as well). For example one of the best shooters out there, Bob Vogel has been known to remove all the internal components of his weapon mounted light (wml’s aren’t allowed in “limited”. Without the internals it’s not considered a light anymore). Then he has filled the light housing with lead shot, now it’s just a weight mounted to the frame. Everything is a compromise, adding weights can help mitigate muzzle rise but can also slow your transitions down since it’s a heavier gun. You have to try which setup works best for you.
I feel that a light on the end does in fact help with muzzle rise but not as much as a proper strong grip does. If you already have a very good grip and mitigate recoil the most you can, then most likely having the added weight from the light will help with muzzle rise. I’ve seen people wanting to add a light to their gun to help with muzzle rise but their foundation of grip was total crap. People with shitty grip won’t benefit much from adding anything to their gun until they have the fundamentals.
I have never done a red dot on a pistol. I have shot a few that were mounted, I am not really all that much of a fan of them. Maybe because I have only shot a few magazines worth.

The only reason I've thought putting a light on my P99 is for the strobe that the one on the receiving end will be subject to. Don't think I'd be interested in a constant light.
Strobe features aren’t as useful as they seem. They aren’t utilized very much at all in real world usage. Most of the time you end up accidentally putting it into strobe mode when you don’t want it to. The better light manufacturers have realized this and have started to not incorporate a strobe function in their lights at all, like the Surefire X300U and the soon to be Modlite PL350. You can also turn the strobe feature off on Streamlight’s with the Ten-Tap Programing like TLR-1’s (HL) as well as their handhelds with that same Ten-Tap programming. All of my Streamlights have the strobe feature turned off.
Weight on the front to help recoil as shown here. So I feel it would help slightly.

For me if im grabbing a firearm with a light on it its a rifle,, but everyone has different situations and needs.
I’m absolutely taking a rifle if I’m able to. But if all you have on you is a handgun, I don’t want to pull it out and be like “Damn, I wish it had a light on it like my rifle does”. That’s why all my handguns and long guns have lights on them.

I would think the strobe would be a bit disorienting. Bright light only slightly bother my eyes, if I look into a strobe it bothers my eyes quite a lot.
