i don’t quite understand the process - how will it not go to the senate?
I thought if is passed the House, they would automatically pass it to the senate for voting?
Or do they only pass it to the senate if they are sure it will get the 60 votes they need?

I don't think it'll pass, but I hope it does. NY's safe act has no chance of ever going away, even with the two new lawsuits, no chance IMO until we can see a breakthrough challenge on the federal level for AWB's.

No one is going to be charged for breaking even destroying the constitution .. That is why this is so sad. Two sets of rules.

yeah, not only is NY losing the 27th District due to population loss (something I initially was upset about), but after traitor Jacobs admitted he would absolutely vote for a Rights-infringing AWB he was crucified by the Republicans and decided not to run for the 23rd District (I think that's one of the ones absorbing part of the 27th).
I emailed his office, but I already knew he would vote this way.
If I ran a business around here I would absolutely deny him any service.

Remember how so many gun owners ignored the bump stock ban or argued that it didn't really matter? Remember how some tried to point out that it was a feature ban, just like pistol grips and barrel shrouds and so on?
Well this bill is going after everything that can be added to any rifle to improve the operation and safety of BOTH rifles and pistols, as well as semi-auto shotguns. AND magazines, banning even the use of duct tape to attach two mags together for faster reloads.
It may not pass the Senate. But what if it does?
Probably more pearl clutching and "how do I comply" threads for those who have no problem jumping through the hoops that fascists are putting up to keep Americans from stopping the nation-destroying agenda that marches on day by day.
What if it passes and all that hope everyone seems to have after Bruen that the courts will take this up doesn't pan out? What if Thomas keels over in the next year? Pshwa! Could never happen right?
Virtually all modern semi-autos will be banned for years, as well accessories, mags and so on. No buying them, and no transferring them either, even if there is eventually court relief.
According to a lot of people who are too cute by half, this is a GOOD thing for the country!
Americans have been playing with fire for decades as the fascists (government + big business Tyranny) have worked over time to curtail our Rights.

Also not mentioned .. Most of the manufacturing of any guns will cease in this country. Already they are preparing to sue them out of business.
All of your mom and pop gun stores would close. Few guns to sell..Massive regulations on their business. What happens if you have only one gun store in a 100 mile radius . No out of state shipments. Would Ammo at $100/box be possible ?
After they sue the gun mfg's out of business. ... Why stop there . Anyone producing ammo will be fair game.
Total disarmament of the population is the goal. .. They will not stop until it is achieved. ... Democrat is just another name for a communist . It was not true even 20 years ago but today ? Don't be surprised if most Democrats have a copy of Mao's little red book hidden away.
